Docking Lights
Has anyone attempted to replace their docking lights?
I have a 2007 Supra ssv24 and I do not have room on my tower for forward faceing lights, wondering if anyone makes a hid or brighter lights for them.. They are very dim... Another thing, anyone know if anyone makes single tower lights, maybe I can squeeze 1 between and 1 on each side of a pair of pro 485s facing the rear... I do not have the z-cargo rack so i can't put them on top of the tower... |
I think Monster Tower has single lights. You can check ebay also.

Most of the new docking light are LED.
Here is an example of one on the market, I am sure that there are plenty more. http://www.attwoodmarine.com/store/p...Docking-Lights |

I have an 07 22SSV. Here is a pic of my old light setup ( amber lenses to cut down on bugs). I've since switched to all true HID lights.
You can failry easily replace the bulb in the factory lights ( under hte bow) with an HID bulb....it should fit. May take some trial/error. The HID bubls are tradtiionally a tad longer. You'll haev to mount the external ballast ( not a big deal) but you'll get much more light. I live on a lake, my tower lights are priceless to me. |
I used a bar from boss acessories, monster tower clamps, and titan lights ( pilot brand).

i have the z-5 top as well.

My lights are these, and I can tell by looking in there, it is for sure an HID-style bulb in there.

OUCH ... $$$ -- has anyone tried the LED lights? Are they any brighter than the stock bulbs I have?
I don't use these enough personally right now to justify this cost, but thanks for the pointer. I have other things higher in the "bling/upgrade" list to spend money on first. |
Any HID or LED lights worth upgrading too are gonna cost $$$$. $200/pr is cheap for HID's. Bright LED's are ridiculously expensive. check out xvission xmitter lights ( bright LED's.)
the ones from superbright you have listed will not work. You woudl prolly get more light from a bic lighter. |
