Does board size affect edge control?

So i just picked up the new one modello board. Rode it today and it wasnt to bad, 2nd ride of the season and i stomped most of my tricks. But i felt like when i edged in to the wake, the board was resisting, like i couldnt get it all the way on edge. I felt the same think last yeat when i tried a 139 ibex that was way to big. Now i've only ridden it this one time but i dont know if i should be worried. Its a 138 and i way about 150lbs, 5'11. I tried a 137 murray before and aside from the fact that it has the super continuous rocker (not a fan), it didnt seem to resist going on edge that much. Last year i rode a 134 ibex and it felt fine but i'm eorried it might be to small this year since i've grown a little.

So is it normal to feel like i have to edge harder with this board? Or is because of the fact that its bigger, the rocker, the new wider ride, maybe my stance is to narrow (on middle stance option 12/-12)? It didnt seem to affect my ride to much but what with it being a new board, maybe i just need to get used to it (?). Let me know guys, thanks

Oh ya and the edge taking wasnt as bad as on the ibex last year when i was lighter, but it was the same kind of feeling.

I barely weigh more than you and ride the same board size ('08 139 Ibex), and have no problem with it. Pretty sure only technique effects edge control.

I weigh 135 and am 6'0, riding a 2011 One 142, and have no problem getting on edge, so I don't think it's a weight or size problem. Like stated above, it's a technique thing getting to edge harder.

How is that weight and height even possible?

I'm 5'8 180 pounds and ride a Harley 143 and have no problem edging hard heelside and toeside. I came from a 139 ibex and had no problems edging on it either. My buddy has a reeeaalllyy wide stance and if I ride his boards I have problems edging. He also rides pretty toed out too. I keep my boots toes out just a hair and have a shoulder width stance. Idk if this helps or is what your supposed to do but it's what works for me lol.
