I currently dont have a boat but I am wondering if buying a tower is worth it in terms if it increases air and makes the air more floaty if you know what i mean. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks, <BR> Alex

if used with proper technique, a tower will give you more air. I know people with huge wakes and towers who can get 2ft of air, and people with small wakes and no tower and can get 5-6ft of air.

cause right now i just wakeboard behind a jet ski which isnt much fun but i can get about 4 ft of air but not very far because the wake is short and small <BR>

I guarantee it's worth it, pain in the ass riding without a tower...I don't do it

Yes there is a huge difference in lift if you add on a tower. If you use a eye it will pull you down becuase you reached the maximun lift that you can get. With the tower it will provide alot more lift. Think of it this way the rope wants to create less tension. The higher you go up the more tension the rope will have so it will pull you down, by getting the tower it provides less tension in the rope so you can get more lift.

From my experience, same technique without and then with a tower, I was getting about 2 extra feet of air when we put the tower on. And that was on the first pull!

It's also easier to get beginners up with a tower as the rope to an eye pulls you forward and down as opposed to the tower just pulling you up. As to the difference between towers and pylons, in my experience (which isn't a whole lot btw) but I've had a pole and a tower on my boat at separate times. The main difference I noticed was when you give a hard pull(really digging your edges in) the boat has a tendency to lean the direction of the rider. My tower doesn't do that even on the craziest of pulls.
