I have a 2003 mb sports b52 with the rear ballast only. Not sure how much they hold? 1200 or 1600? Any way I need more weight in the bow, instead of trying to cram three people up there(most of the time we are just 3 adults and 2 kids) In what shape does the lead come , and where is the easiest place to purchase, and how much should i expect to spend? I am also thinking about a tube shape fatsac 600lb, but i hate to lose the space.
Any ideas?

i found a great idea. get some 3 or 4" pvc pipe and cut it in about 2 1/2 foot sections. go to a tire store and ask them for the old lead weight the take off tires after balancing. I got 4 buckets(5 gallon) for about 30 bucks. fill the tubes up, cap them(make sure to drill a small hole in one cap to let the air out) and you have weight that is easily moved around. 2 1/2 foot 3" pvc pipe filled is about 25 pounds. they fit perfectly under the bow seats and out of the way, stuff jackets and other stuff under there as well.

I did something similar to Ryan.
Used tire weights, but instead I used a luandry detergent bottle (tide 96 oz. or some thing like that) duck taped the heck out of it. Then filled to with tire weights, put sand in on top of the weights.I put it in the truck for a day so the vibration would get everything to settle, then added more weioght s and sand.

the only thing I wish I would have done differently is to use sand/concrete. That way if the container ever broke tore open etc. it would still be in one pc.

weight est. 75#'s

i use both - pop product and fly high fat sacks..

both. 75% water 25% lead.

found some cool canvas bags at wallyworld. prolly 40#s each.

I bought 2 pieces of steel from a customer of mine that are 2"x8"x 12". I paid $35.oo a block. I then had a buddy weld on some handles for me and grind the corners for me. I then took them to Rhino linning and had them coated. Each block weighs in around 85lbs. I use them for surfing and to balance out the boat when I have other people on board.
