how many guys are using the bow sacs from fly high? 1000 pounds seems like too much to run on top of a vtx stock ballast in the bow? what are guys using to sac a vtx on top of the 4 tank stock ballast....looking to add more weight as usual?

I have the 1000. I fill it up about 3/4 in the VLX's we use. On top of bow ballast. The key is to be a good/ have a good driver. I have had it filled up all the way and still not taken a drop of water over the bow. On the other hand, someone with less experience could have made it a disaster.

(Message edited by eyekahn on December 02, 2008)

^^^ I agree Im using the 1000# in my vlx and you have to be carful. I have only run with it completely full 2 or 3 times for the most part 3/4 is good for my crew.but it is nice to know there is more room left.

If you are skeptical about the 1000. Get the 750. It fits perfectly horizontal in the bow of the boat.

i fill up half way with hardtank underneath. just started winter project of plumbing it in off overfill of hard tank. and adding a pump to empty.

just unhook quick connect to sac and once front hardtank is full overfill hose drains into bow sac once desired weight quick connect back to drain hose and when it time to go home hit the switch hard tank drains and the bow sac will have it own drain pump installed. have drilled drain hole but havnt got pump yet. there is only 4 drains i just ordered another one and installed.

dhands88 12-02-2008 10:43 AM

oh sorry 23 lsv.

dusty1414 12-02-2008 10:48 AM

what about sacs in the rear, what high fly sacs would guys be using for the vtx?

dhands88 12-02-2008 10:57 AM

i dont know about vtx but i have hard tanks that are 250 each and i plumb n one 600 on top of the hard tanks on each side and the 23lsv wake is one of my favorite.

dhands88 12-02-2008 11:00 AM

did same thing as the front ordered stainless steel thru hull fittings for the drain pumps and installed myself. 4 k ballast with the touch of a switch. no more sitting there manual pumping up fly high sacs.

you guys that are running the 1000 in the bow..... how much in the v drive compartments and are you using the wedge.... i hear many guys that weigh the malibus down a whole lot dont use the wedge.... am i wrong?

Robby

dhands88 12-02-2008 5:35 PM

a ton of people dont use the wedge with alot of weight. I do simply cause i like the lip it puts on the top alot of riders dont like the lip so they leave the wedge up. plus wake is so big it cost more in gas to get out of hole with wedge down.

liljohn 12-02-2008 6:27 PM

I have the stock three tanks ( 2 rear and center) on thop of that i run 2 750# bags in the lockers and the 1000# triangle. Wedge or no wedge the wake is awsome.

malibuboats4 12-02-2008 8:36 PM

thats madness danny... any pics of the wake?

eyekahn 12-03-2008 7:16 AM

750 or so front, 400 in the rears, 1200 in the middle, and stock 4 ballast. No wedge and 85ft. Perfect wake.

(Message edited by eyekahn on December 03, 2008)

(Message edited by eyekahn on December 03, 2008)

(Message edited by eyekahn on December 03, 2008)

nope not yet winter project but i will post pics of the complete project and pic of wake. waiting for my pumps to come in to finish install.

Eyekahn has it right load it till it wont plane then let some out until it planes and thats how much ballast to use. LOL

eyekahn 12-03-2008 5:17 PM

The weight in the middle matters the most. It really helps the boat not drop speed and track better. Danny your color ways are awesome!

lovin_the_wake 12-03-2008 7:29 PM

I have one under the playpen in my 91 Sunsport I only fill it a little over halfway though

dhands88 12-04-2008 1:31 PM

thanks Eyekahn

that makes sense i have been toying with my bag that sit in middle of boat. i usually put it in the back seat. i will try to move it forward some. only if it would warm up im counting the days.

I have an I/O and put the 1000# sac in the bow filled up all the way, and 300# in the rear. It has been the best thing I've done so far for the wake, but it's an I/O and I think the trick for I/O's is to put more weight in the front, helps it plane out real easy and fast.

12-06-2008 1:58 PM

hey mike.. i have an i/o as well.. do you have any pics of the wake with that setup? if so, post em up or email them to me please.. rzrbackfan80@ yahoo.com
