I am a big football player and I am new to wakeboarding. Can anyone recommend a good board for a big guy like me? Im 6'4", 275lbs and I wear a size 13 shoe. Let me know, thanks for your help!

I am 6'4" and was up to 260. I ride a Hyperlite Motive 144, with XXL Parks bindings ( size 12 shoe, but I have a friend who rides my board, and he has size 14 or 15 shoe.) The board is very forgiving on beginners, but you can progress quite nicely with it.

dont get a roam dude...alain man he said a bigginer board....if u now about the roam not only does it have no fins but it has no molded fins or any conturing to the board...it is flat and one of the hardest board to control. <BR> <BR>my old board a Liquid Force trip is a great bigginer board...i am selling it but it is to small for you...if you can find on that is in the 140's u would be set.

yeah I have a Roam.. some people say it's best to go finless right away to learn how to edge properly without relying on fins.. on the other hand, if I got on a Roam right away I would have surely spent even more time sliding all over the place like a nut. so since I dunno any better, I wasn't endorsing any one over the others just listing the big ones..

o yeah i see...i was at first thinking...like who is this moron...i would never put a first timer on a roam but now that i see where u are coming from i get ya lol.

Go for the Era or the Motive!

I would suggest the hyperlite state 145. I am 6'3" 200 lbs and I ride the state 140.

I am 6'4", size 14, 235 lbs, and ride a JStar Empire 142 with XXL bindings. The board tracks almost too well and is wider than most for decent pop off the wake. <BR> <BR>As for finless right away - not on a Roam right away. You need some stability and tracking to learn on the water, not face planted. Roams are for intermediate riders and above who can ride a regular board finless with control, first.

I am 6'0" 300lbs. Even when I was around 260, I still had a lot of trouble with anything shorter than a 142. I could really tell the difference in drag going down to a 140. Keep in mind, that was a a constant speed of 23.5 at the time. I moved up to 24.5 to 24.7 mph since then. Being a big guy, you will have to ride a little faster over time. If you don't, your board will always be sunk in the water and never feel krisp. Kind of like riding on flat tires. <BR> <BR>I don't know about everyone else, but, I feel I have my board size with speed dialed in when I can ride behind the boat and can pull on the rope and advance myself toward the boat with a little bit of a pull. If you are going too slow for you the board you are riding, you can pull but you will use all your strength to move forward. <BR> <BR>Hope that helps.

Look at the CWB Factor 144cm with the CWB hinge Tech bindings in an xxl. IMO one of the best setups for the money and the Factor is a great mold for all levels of riding up to a pro level. The CWB Torqs with the hinge tech will make it easy to get in and out of with your size 13 feet!!

Try a local board shop they might have last years models for a lot less.State bindings are difficult to get out of,try the torques

Grayson...if you are interested, I'm willing to sell my '05 Hyperlite Motive 144 with Hyperlite Spin XL bindings (I wear size 13 as well).

im interested how much <BR>the board is the same size as the 06 rite

i like binding choice... state bindings are the most accomodating for big feet because they have a split toe.

well i just ordered a hyperlite state 145 with state boots <BR>thanks everybody for there input and advice i would have gone totally with the wrong board
