As i grow more and more attached to this sport i am needing to extend my season past the warm summer months. I believe that a drysuit will be nessecary to do this but i have no clue which brands are high quality drysuit brands and where to buy them at. I know there are web sites but i need some first hand advice because i definitly want a nice suit not a cheap leaky one. So which suits do you use and where did you pick them up at? Thanks

im up in the northwest. My lake temp is just at 40degrees its freezing!

tcluv85 05-01-2007 10:46 PM

Well Lake Sammamish hit 60, but then bounced back down to 52 on Monday, so yes the majority are still drysuiting it. I have seen one person wear a shortie.

Where in the Northwest do you live?

If you are wanting to try on drysuits, find the boat dealerships that sell wakeboarding boats (top 3) and they should have drysuits. Probably Bare or Oneil.

If you want to buy online, check the classifieds here on wakeworld for used suits. Also the sponsor sections. Wakeside has the Boost and Adrenaline Watersports has their own which several people I ride with have.

Also you can call Grizzlys (get # at Grizzly-Sports.com) and see if they have any Bare drysuits left for the season.

52 and someone was riding in a shorty That's just too darn cold.

I finally wore my Bare out after six seasons. I'd recommend them if your looking for a quality brand.

for a bombproof drysuit check out www.fatsac.com/ ...you can buy it at overtons.
look in the barefoot side(the guy in the drysuit) of the site...
buy your drysuit big...i wear either a small or medium wetsuit but i get a large drysuit, to make it easier to wear as much or as little as i want under it and easier to get in and out of it...once you use one in real cold conditions you will be amazed at how well it works...i have used it in 40 degree water on a 45 degree day...and was warm...

My 10 year old son was out this weekend in 52 deg water in trunks.
I guess if you want it bad enough you will do it.

bob 05-03-2007 2:17 AM

And if you have money you ride in 65 degree water with a drysuit

O'neil makes a great drysuit, we used ours all winter and had no problems. I think buywake.com sells them.

ronnyboy27 05-03-2007 7:50 AM

Alison do you have any sisters. I don't even know a woman that would of ridden with a wetsuit in those temps.

mrdenial 05-03-2007 8:40 AM

I was going to ask the same question, but I didn't think my wife would be happy with that =)

bcrider 05-03-2007 8:51 AM

I have a OS Systems drysuit which works great. I have also seen a add in WBM for Adrenaline waterpsorts in Seattle so somewhere close to that which has drysuits from $ 269.oo and up. I have been out the last two weekends in a row already with my drysuit and plan on going tomorrow again.

when you're 10 you do not know better...
if you can afford a drysuit...get one! only for the cold though...
65 degree water you will be too warm in the drysuit, and since they are not the most comfortable, (it is an exhausting workout getting into and especially out of a drysuit!), thats when you are happy to be trunkin or at least down to a wetsuit(my case)

entrustclothing 05-03-2007 3:39 PM

in portland the water gets down to about 40-42 and i use the dry suit for that. once the water hits 50 i moved to my 4/3 full suit and then at 60 ill move to the spring suit the above 65 i trunk it with maybe a neo top

john4d 05-03-2007 4:36 PM

we use the oneil boost dry suit and have been going for almost a month now in 40 degree water. dry suit works great a little cold on the hands and feet.

Ron and Daniel ~ LOL, I do not - sorry. I am one of a kind though, kind of die hard sometimes a little to much. I live in MN, and you do what you have to, to get as much riddin in.
