Anyone ever tried Surf Warehouse's Finatics program? Thoughts on it?

I may be in the significant minority, but I had an awful dealing with Chris at the Surfboard Warehouse. I think he meant to do right by me, but wound up screwing me out of about $25. It seemed like he and his staff were struggling with organization and he was too busy with other things to attend to my account. He was always apologetic, but never resolved my problem. At some point, 15 apologies don't mean anything.

My 2 cents and experience.

i ordered two tail pads from them. 3-4 weeks and 5 apologies later i finally received them.

Yeah - that's the way I felt. Apologize once, then resolve the issue. The second through fifth aplogy is just patronizing. Hey duckdiver, if you find a good source for traction that carry those Beaker pads, arch bar and the Xtrak stripper please let us know. I think I bought the last Beaker in existence.

I know when I ordered my Scimitars from surfboard warehouse I got them in 3 days no problems at all, albeit this wasn't through the finatics program.

"I think I bought the last Beaker in existence. "

NOOOO I surely hope not I was just getting ready to order one

LOLOL I had been using the Skim Shop for my Beaker pad needs. They have an online inventory thingee and I snatched whatever they had left a few weeks ago. Hopefullly they'll stock up again soon, or we'll find an alternative retailer.

they have them here https://www.alleyoopskim.com/store/prodCat.php?CID=16 (Alley Oop Skimshop) and you can get a free skimboard video with the purchase.

*disclaimer: the owners of this shop are my good friends and I filmed a section of said video. I'm only posting this to answer a question as the rules state is acceptable

I tried to call them to ask about the program. Voice mail was full. I did order some black stix from them a week ago today. I hope I get them soon!

well, 2 weeks and still no fins. I called the Surfboard Warehouse again and actually was able to leave a message. I have sent 3 emails with no response. I guess customer service is out the door...

Thats no bueno

hatepain 07-13-2009 5:56 PM

Got a kick pad from Alley Oop, good prices and service. Cool skim video caskimmer, thanks for the recommendation.

Glad you liked the vid. The Scott Flores part was the section I filmed. It's his leftover footage but I think they did a good job with it making it look fresh.

Jason and Corey really are great guys.

Got this response yesterday after a few phone calls and emails. I just ordered a different set of fins. Hopefully I get them soon... Does anyone know if Future Fins sells direct?

Thank you for your order. I checked with the warehouse and it seems that we can not get the F4 Black Sticks at this time. They are the only set we can not get. We spoke with Future Fins and they don't expect there next shipment for a few more weeks. Please let me know if you would like to wait on this shipment or if there is another set of fins that you would like.

Goodwin, Future sells 9 or 10 fins on the site store. They don't sell the F4 Black Stix, but you may have luck anyways trying, never hurts to see. I'm in the process of opening an account with them, they are super nice people to deal with.

(Message edited by bac on July 16, 2009)

I don't ask for much, just communication. I understand if they don't have them. But if I am paying $100 for a set of fins, I want some sort of reason why I don't have them after over 2 weeks.

Thanks, I will check out their site.

bac 07-16-2009 5:50 PM

I can tell you that Future requires all fins listed for sale on a website to be IN STOCK to avoid situations like this. Sounds like Surf Warehouse doesn't keep very good track of their order quantities vs actual stock on hand.

(Message edited by bac on July 16, 2009)

Well, I still do not have the fins.... unbelievable. I have changed fin choices twice. Nothing...
