i/o boat wake

i have a sea ray 220 select w/ a tower. The wake is very small. Can i make it bigger with fat sacks? i load it down with people and set the trim and it's still not that big. it's got plenty of pulling power so would fat sacks help? any other tips? thanks

Fatsacks in the front and middle walkway.

i used to rock an 89 monterey i/o and i added about 750lbs to the middle and back and it made the wake quite a bit better. that was about all i could add due to the lack of power the boat had.

We put the trim up for about 2 seconds on my parents four winns and it makes the wake pretty clean. With a full tank and a boat full of people the wake is pretty nice.

I have 1k up front and another 1k in the back. That makes the wake nice and rampy

More weight. My family's I/O is an 18.5 ft boat, with a v6, and I put a bit over 1500 lbs of just water in that boat. Then you add people and equipment, and you are well into the 2k range. With a boat as big as yours, you will need more weight still. I put just about half of the water weight in the bow, and then like you said, use the trim to get desired effects. Good luck, it can be done.

Keep adding weight until you get the wake you are looking for, can't get on plane anymore, or have water coming over the gunnels! Generally speaking, put the weight 60/40 front/back for starters and adjust to get it clean.

Russell's idea of putting the trim up some after you are on plane is very effective.
Start adding bow weight and a little trim up,, then move people around to see where you want more weight.
