So i need someone's help; do i need a driver or some software or what because i cant even get the camera to show up on my computer or anything. If any one can help me please do cuz i need it. You need an editor that supports the HDV format and can control/digitize your footage via firewire from that camera.

Premiere Pro and Vegas both support HDV. I know there are many more for the windows platform. HDV needs a lot of processor/machine throughput, you'll need something fairly powerful.
