I know these kind of questions have been asked a thousand times, but I am also asking..lol Anyone out there with similar boat, what is your set up? Im going out this week for first time, this is what I have
Stock Ballest 250+ whichever side
400# fatsack for inside storage
Front Storage 300
+ people
Hows that for starters? just getting going.
not sure on speed yet, any recommendations?

Hey Jason - I am sure someone with a Sanger can chime in...maybe Isaac? But shoot for 10.5 mph to start.

When are you headed out?

T

Hey Jason,
Here is my setup for the v215. Stock ballast either side that you are riding on. front stock ballast full. 600 lead in back locker and maybe 400 water on top. here is what you get. Both sides use the same setup.

I have an 08 V215 and run about the same set-up as above and three people (including the driver) with good results. I tried adding more weight to the front to lenghten the pocket but did not work out so well. Maybe with more people in the boat. When I first started out I had about the same weight as you listed and definitely got a nice wave. Is the 300 on top of the stock 500 bag in front?? if so I would recommend:
-stock (whichever side)
-both the 400 and 300 in the rear locker (300 on
top of the 400), just don't fill up either
too full so they don't "pop" if you will
-front stock

If you don't have a front stock bag and the 300 is the only front ballast then def put the 300 up front and the 400 in the rear locker. Good lucj and have fun!!!

(Message edited by clotus on September 08, 2009)

Trevor: Friday...you looking to ride, I hurt self from wakeboarding for now so doing low impact stuff

black_ops_09 09-09-2009 9:28 AM

Clotus: I have a 300 up front, that is good for now? it is the one under the floor thats all I have up front. then fill one side 300, then the fatsack 400 in storage.

Was just looking for good starting point, and keep cost down.
Thanks for the assist.

Jason, you need more weight than that..

I run 400 in the front locker bag, 700 in the rear side that your surfing on + 100 in lead on the floor in the corner + 4/5 people..

This weekend we ran 13 people in the boat + the above and the wake was HUGE.. boat was leaning like a cholo

1200ish in the surf side locker and the 500 midship gets the job done right. If I wanna go even bigger I'll throw another 400 on the seat too. You've got one of the best surf boats out there just dial it in. Get some lead it changed my wave for the better in a big way!!! Plus when you're wakeboarding its great to throw up in the bow to blow up the wake. A nickel should do ya right...O yeah we run about 11.2-11.5 it'll get ya 20+ feet back with enough push for 200+lb'rs

clotus 09-10-2009 11:51 AM

Jason, if you have the wake series then you should have a 500lbs front sac, unless they changed it for 09, which I doubt.

black_ops_09 09-10-2009 4:18 PM

Yes it is 500, I think I put 300 on post.

Hate: will play with it hopefully tomorrow
500 up front

800 on surf side for now.

Need to pick up some lead bags

black_ops_09 09-20-2009 5:54 PM

Weight in the front will make the wave longer?

Yes
