Just wondering how to throw my body off the wake to start the OA rotation, right now everytime I try it turns into a banked out crow...
or
I spin a 7 or something but no handle... its a nightmare, please help

you know usually with off axis spins are enitiated with a hard cut or leaving early, i know when i do TS FS 540s if i spin early i get off axes and also if i cut really hard and spin really fast i go OA. can both of you do 540's??

yup

so then i dont understand the problem

I would say to practice on the tramp first. If you arent sure how to get off axis, practice "butt-out raleys". Once you get those down try passing the handle. I have found you dont want as much tension as a regular spin when doing these but thats just my opinion. Deff do what I said above though if you havent already it should help. Good luck

throw youre elbo to set the rotation!!

On my toe off 5 I tend to come in with my arms in a bit closer to my body than on a flat 5. I also feel as though I'm popping a bit more off of my front foot, and dip my rear shoulder to help get my body off axis. It should feel a bit more "tripped" around than a flat 5 does. While there is still a pull to initiate the rotation, as with any spin, this is one where your pop off the wake really helps with rotation of the spin without messing it up. Once you get them down you'll probably feel like they're a bit easier than a flat 5. Good luck, and let us know of any progress!
