What is a good wetsuit.Is it better to go with 3mm or 6mm neopream . What is the coldest water you would go in before switching to a drysuit? <BR>Thanks

it all depends on how cold the water is and if you can stand it. I us a 2mm wetsuit (O'neill Hammer) and works great till the air gets pretty cold. then i switch to a drysuit.

with 6mm, you'll barely be able to move. personally, i'll go straight from trunkin it to a drysuit. even in a 3/2, i feel like my movement in restricted. i'll trunk it until the water is around 65 (maybe a little colder if the air is nice) then ill just use a drysuit. i have used a 3/2 mm wetsuit and didnt get cold in 55 degree water.

Let me get this straight, you got in 55 degree water with a wetsuit on and it wasnt cold....well ill leave that one alone. Daniel , just get the dry suit, ive got the shorty, full suit, and dry suit experience to tell you to just get the dry suit and you will be much happier.

Yeah go to a dry suit. A 6mm will be like a straight jacket and heavy as s***. I have found that a wetsuit does not do real well for keeping you warm while wakeboarding. I have surfed all my life and they work great for that. But in surfing you stay in the water most of the time. The object of a wetsuit is to let the cold water in and then your body warms it, that takes a little time. It is hard to get to that warm part when you jump in the water and then immediatly get pulled up by the boat, then all the water goes out until you fall and it repeats again. So the water never has a chance to get warmed in the suit.

I have both O Neil and Jet Pilot wetsuits and picked up a drysuit last year. I would go back to the wetsuits. The drysuits may be baggy but if you are going to put anything on, a drysuit is easier to put on and take off. IMO <BR> <BR>

I meant to say I wouldn't go back to a wetsuit.
