I am replacing my Sony CD plyer with another similar device (out of my truck). I guess I need those thin pieces of metal designed to slide between the deck and the chasis in order to pull the old deck out. Is there any other item or trick that could work for this step? I dont have those pieces and I have a feeling they are not available for seperate purchase.

All those pieces do is push back a tab. get a small screwdriver and you can do the same thing. OR just borrow soem from a local shop or large store with an install bay, ie best buy, ect.
