Looking for first board
 

Hello. I found both of these boards on Craiglist. We have never had an actual wakesurf board before and not sure what to look for. I have a makeshift board that my cousin shaped from an old broken surfboard. It is pretty small and I was able to get going without the rope for a little bit, but it was not very good. I do think it would be nice to have a rideable board on the boat especially in the afternoons. I have a Supra 21V with 650s in the rear and 1100 in the center/front. I am assuming a bigger board would be better. Both of these boards are $140. Any opinions are welcome. I am just looking for a cheap board that we could cruise around. Thanks!

How much do you weigh? If you are less than 180lbs, most any board will work if you are just looking for something cheap to cruise on. Any heavier than that and then the size of the wake and the specific board really comes into play.

scott, if you have a demo program in your area, do it. The boards listed can be thought of as out dated compared to some of the boards offered today. THere is a reason they are that cheap. James is totally on the money when saying that they will work, if you have a big tall wake.

The industry calls them $1000 dollar boards because you will ride it, have some fun then get frustrated seeing videos of others wireless and shredding up and down the lip. You will then go purchase a surf style board ($650) that is of a surf design and made with more resent technology and skill. Hens $1000.

Not trying to dis the boards you have listed, I have both of them and this is how I learned. Just want to open minds as you truly get what you pay for most of the time.
If you can demo anything look up triple X and Lakewakes Wakesurf boards. they have very competitive pricing and the Lakewakes is full custom....If you see yourself hitting it hard and can work the board or butter the wake then look at Soulcraft, Shred Stixx or the Walker Projects. all 5 makers have pros flying there colors.

This should be the fun part so enjoy testing and asking question, once its in your boat, its hard not to force yourself to ride it, even if its not that good.
