I'm a point and click kindof guy (not a real photographer) and I'm looking to be able to get some videos of wakeboarding among other things. With a ZR80 would I be able to get stills out of the video? and would I be able to watch the clips on the big screen if it has an S video in jack?
Any advice would be appreciated

I have a zr80 and imo it does not have emough optical zoom to be a good wake camera.

UH......Ya.....no. The ZR80 has plenty of optical zoom. Unless you put it on a tripod, you can hardly hold it still enough to get good footage with it fully zoomed.

You can get still pics from the video(with software). They won't be very good though.

You can watch the video from the camera on any TV with S-video or RCA inputs.

Here's a sequence shot from frame grabs off a ZR60.

Here's a video begining shot entirely with a ZR60.
http://www.wakepics.com/view_single.php?medid=12718
Jeremy, thanks for answering my specific questions, I had been following some threads on here earlier and had seen your video. I think its great. Since I posted this I ended up ordering a ZR200, but haven't got it yet.

I have an xl20, but a friend uses her ZR80 and has no complaints so far. A little trouble following a wakeboarder on a river while riding a jetskier, but otherwise easy to handle. A bit small from using the XL20
