I'm looking to replace the head unit in my truck. Specifically I'm looking at the CDA-9831.

Specs: http://www.cartoys.com/Default.cfm/p/CDA_9831_AM_FM_MP3_CD_Player

I like the 3pr. 4v preouts and iPersonalize sound tuning features. Any other suggestions/recommendations?

-Steve

And I meant to ask if anyone has any experience with this series head unit, what their thoughts were on them. Thanks!

-Steve

i second the alpine head units, the interface with the ipod is really cool, no more scrolling through the ipod wheel while driving. Just set it secure in the glove box.

I have the 9833 in my car (I guess one notch up from the 9831?), it replaced a 9813 which is now in my boat. It is pretty good, but I think that I like the 9813 better. The 9813 is basically an older version of the 9833. They have the same features on paper, but the 9813 seems to access faster, especially MP3/WMA disks. I also feel like the 9813 sounds a little better??

Overall I have been pretty happy with both, but I personally feel tha Alpine has been going downhill for a while (especially looking at the specs of their recent offerings on Crutchfield).

Well I ended up getting the CDA-9831 on ebay for <$100. I'll post up my opinion on it when I install it this week.

-Steve
