Banana George

For any of you out there who have not heard of Banana George, check out this vid. There's a good article on his life in edition's Water Ski mag. He was definitely a legend and an inspiration. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bCOZXtVuBaA For the Add impaired, this is a sample of the barefooting abilities http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JankgaPZp9w

I was a fan. We should all strive to live like Banana George.

I met him at Barefoot Nationals in Houston about 1998 or so. He hit on my girlfriend. I'm serious. She was like 16 (I was 17).

An interesting dude for sure.

Nice video. I cut the newspaper article out when he died. Lot of respect for his contribution to the sport of barefooting, though I never met him. RIP BG.

He was just 83 back then...he was just a giant flirt who knew how to get hugs and kisses. He was happily married.

I dont mean to brag, but I actually got to ski with his grandson and his great grand daughter at a Georgia Junior Development Ski camp in Winter Haven, Florida. I got to ski on the lake he skied on, too. I felt very honored.

He's a certified legend...one of a kind, there won't ever be another like Banana George.
