I have decided to demo the X-1 and purchase if all goes well on the demo. I have read many threads about the X-1 and most are good. Here are a few questions I have:
1. How is the ride in rough/semi-rough water?
2. Is the 310 hp enough when the boat is loaded down?
3. How much extra weight is needed for a big wake?
4. What is the best wakesurfing weight configuration?
5. Any other useful information.

Gregg......I had a '02 XStar which is the same as the X1. Here's my thoughts:

1. In rough water it doesn't ride very well and you will get beat around pretty good.

2. I had the 310hp motor with a 14x18 prop and it was more then enough to get the boat on plane with 2400# of water. The 310 engine actually has a much better torque profile then the MCX.

3. With 4-5 people in the boat I'd run around 2200# (1000# in the back and 1200# in the front).

4. Empty the driver's side completely, fill the center KGB and add 1000# on the surf side.

5. This is a great boat that will not leave you disappointed at all!

I have a 99 205V with tower (Basically an X1) I love my boat and will most likely get an X1 or whatever they are calling it when I get a new boat. I agree with the above. The boat is not the best in rough water. I ride with 1500 in the rear and 1000 up front sometimes as many as 12 people. The wake is massive. I have the upgraded engine from 99 and it take a little more to get it out of the hole than you would like but I would definately get the 310 next time becasue of the torque. Just buy the boat you will love it.

I have an 06 X-1 and I really like it. The wake is great. My only complaint is the rough water ride. However, if the front is weighted, it is not bad at all.

I too have an 06 X1. I am in very high alltitude (salt lake city UT) and the 310hp is more than enough power for the boat. Im not sure what year they came out with the 310hp mpi. It does to better than the older version 310hp wich was throtle body oun in the 1999-2002?
