I am very happy with my 93 Sport Nautique, but looking to upgrade to a Nautique V-drive for more room and a better surf wake. I'm very happy with the SN boarding wake(with various degrees of ballast)...so I want something with a similar wake. Budget is <$34,000.

Suggestions?

i know a supra that I could work into that range.

Supersport nautique, same hull as SuperAir.... we got our SSnautique for 18k with 350 hours, added ballast, prop, tower, stereo and are at like 22k, and if you've got 34k to speand you can get a great boat

Jay,
Is that with or without a bent prop? Haha.

Get a Super Air Nautique or Super Sport and you will be very happy. Same Nautique quality and workmanship plus a great hull for wakeboarding. The one negative with the SAN is that only the driver's side of the boat throws a super clean surf wake due to the prop rotation. If you ride goofy then it is not a big deal but I am regular and it presents some issues. You can get a pretty nice SAN or SS for that price range. Other boats such as a Supra or Malibu will give you a lot more room and throw a pretty solid wakesurfing wake. I love my SAN but it is a true wake boat and less of an all around roomy family pulling machine for all aspects of water play.

Add a little to the budget and get a Nautique SV211. I went from a 95SN to the 211, it's a great upgrade.

Hey Gary, I have an SV211 for sale for 41k (2005 Team). But, i also know of an '01 SAN for sale that has been kept in immaculate condition with less than 250 hours.

http://onlyinboards.com/Details.aspx?ID=1331524
I spoke to this guy and he is very... let's say particular about the upkeep on his boats. I think this is a good deal IMO.
