i am working on my 2nd invert i can land a backroll and i have got really close to a frontroll and scarecrow. i have also got close to a railey and tantrum. which one should i focus on first?

get a good front roll down first. Even though a scarecrow may seem easier when trying, a good frontroll basis will help in the future for more toeside inverts.
just my .02 worth.

(Message edited by big_x-star on June 16, 2007)

I'd do the scarecrow first, it is incredibly easy & you don't have to let go of the handle with either hand. If you pop correctly you just hold on and rotate around the handle, the frontroll has a little more going on. Why not try the crow 5x then try the roll 5x?

A scarecrow is a front roll just to revert. So don't you think you should learn a front roll first?

"get a good front roll down first. Even though a scarecrow may seem easier when trying, a good frontroll basis will help in the future for more toeside inverts."

That's excellent advice!

yeah but landing facing the boat.

frontroll,you are facing away....

That being said,I try frontrolls and not scarecrows.

If you are really good at toeside one 180's a crow is easier...if you have not perfected ts 180 stick to front roll...jmo

yah thanks guys i think im going to do the scarecrow 1st then go straight to the frontroll. then railey.

Yea, learn the frontroll first. Don't be like me and learn the scarecrow first. Now I cant do a frontroll to save my life.

"if you have not perfected ts 180 stick to front roll...jmo"
Agreed, but I would say learn the 180 first, if you can't hit a ts 180 100%, it may be a stretch for a frontroll/scarecrow. Not trying to discount you Rio Rider. I would say frontroll before scarecrow after 180s, 360s.

i learned the crow first. ive finally gotten the front roll down. it took forever. that being said. learn what you want. yes it makes more sense to land ts front roll before the crow but how many people have learned a hs three before a bs 180 or a ts bs 180? progress how you like.

Leo, do an Elephant. Its kinda how I do my frontroll. Rail it hard like a crow and at the last second pull it to regular and let go with your back hand. Feels really cool and stalled out.

ive also got some ts front roll tips posted in the trick tips section under my fs oa 3 thread. i focused on those keys to help me land my first ts front rolls.
