Hey, im lookin to get a new baord. i ride a 134 motive right now, and i want sumthin that is a little more on the advanced side. I'm around 5'8 145 ne suggestions?

vcamper 08-14-2005 5:51 PM

I rode the motive 134 before i got my new LF Substance and absolutely love the board. It has the same feel as the motive just A LOT more pop.

go for the substance. its a great board. If you're looking for something cheaper check out the obrien oasis. great board with great pop and its cheap. only 200

3DS or TFD

patrick_o 08-16-2005 6:17 PM

Yea i was lookin at the 3ds or tfd. Anyone have any input on the Balance or the subject?

If you can unload your board and get some $$$ for it, hit up eBay for a Substance. You can get an '05 138 for between 250 and 300. You can probably get smaller/larger sizes cheaper.

subjekt is an awesome board just rides too deep in the water for me..... gotta ride it at least once though

patrick_o 08-17-2005 2:57 PM

Should my motive be cutting in the wake fast or on the slow side?

wakeriderixi 08-17-2005 3:00 PM

motive is rather fast...... not as fast as the TFD but it is continuous rocker.

patrick_o 08-17-2005 4:20 PM

I think I WANT SOMETHIN WITH MORE Upward pop and edge hold

wakeriderixi 08-17-2005 5:22 PM

still in line with a TFD or 3DS..... its a faster board then the motive. Has four fins instead of two center fins. Its abrupt continuous rocker meaning it keeps its speed and fluid consistent pop but explodes of the wake better then a normal continuous rocker. It has the SOFTEST landings of ANY board out there. If you buy it you need to replace the stock fins with smaller .8 fins to use the board at its potential.

Does anybody know where I could get e tfd for relatively cheap?

wakeriderixi 08-17-2005 7:56 PM

ebay for a cheap TFD... but I was thinking..... you like the Motive but want something thats a step up.... have you considered sticking with the same theme and giving a Belmont, Temet, or Murray a try? That is the order that Shawn Murray came out with his newer boards. TFD will take you more up on your pop, will be faster, will be looser, and will land softer. Belmont will track tighter, ride faily fast, basically feel like a bit more performance then your Motive. Make sure its a 2002 or newer Belmont though because anything less and its your Motive shape just with the Belmont name.

Out of the two boards above though...... The TFD is more advanced.
