I'm trying front bigs but my skate just gets hung up. Any suggestions?

toxis 01-14-2009 7:39 PM

vid? gets hung up how and when? What's the board doing? I'm DEFINITELY not the right person to answer this as I can't even do a shuv. haha But at least I can ask some questions to get more educated skaters to help you out.

wswb4lfe 01-14-2009 7:43 PM

No sorry no vid. When i pop the board it does like a 90 front shuv but then it just stops.

wakemitch 01-14-2009 11:40 PM

if it is going 90 its because you are throwing it while on edge.
make sure you flatten off and then throw it.

cut out
flatten off
hold the handle with only your back hand near your back hip
push your back foot down into the water while pushing it out with your heel like a fs 180 but with a little more from your heel
suck up your legs with your feet wide watching it spin
catch it in a normal riding stance but with a bit more pressure on your toes so you dont slip out
catch

Oh ok I see thank you I'll have to try it that way.just a question Mitch have you ever done a front big on the liquidforce sst?

wakemitch 01-15-2009 8:59 AM

yes. i rode the 42 and then the 40.5 last season. i loved fs bigs on that board because the flexy tails

wswb4lfe 01-15-2009 11:10 AM

Oh that's sick! The skate is asymetrical right?which side did your back foot siton to kick the big spin?I know that sounds dumb

wakemitch 01-15-2009 9:57 PM

thats one thing i hated about the sst. i cant stand asymmetrical. i would always make sure the tail was actually the tail. it felt a little different but its mainly in my head.
now im on a symmetrical board and it is so much more consistant

dlwsrider 01-15-2009 10:10 PM

You could always try a zariel Mitch ;)

wakemitch 01-15-2009 10:40 PM

ive tried it and it wasnt for me. im off bilevels
and i cant imagine riding something bigger then 40" now that im on the 38.65"

wswb4lfe 01-16-2009 11:04 AM

Mitch am i correct in saying the skinnier tail is better for big spins?

dlwsrider 01-16-2009 12:20 PM

What are you on now?

(It comes in a 40" )

wswb4lfe 01-16-2009 12:38 PM

dlwsrider 01-16-2009 1:40 PM

Figured. When I heard "Tiny Tiny board" I thought integ

How you likin' it? Always wanted to try an Integrity skate.

wakemitch 01-16-2009 1:49 PM

its amazing. the size is perfect. the stiffness of the bamboo core makes it react faster then any board, so no delay like a bilevel. also it snaps up and spins crazy fast and percise. i love everything about it. the edges are perfect as well, never hangs up, but tracks so great with no fins.

wswb4lfe 01-16-2009 2:19 PM

what is the website for integrity?

eviltweak 01-16-2009 8:17 PM

integrity-wake.com

if you order from them pm dd on wakeskating.com he will answer all your questions in little or no time. i got my TNT for Christmas but i haven't gotten to ride it so aggravating.

wswb4lfe 02-01-2009 7:18 PM

What is the weight comparison the sst to the TNT?
