need help with my HS FS 360 please(vid inside)
|
get a better cut at it and pop a lil harder. Add that to most of those attempts and you would have landed a few.
|
Because I have had the same problem with my 360...
You're leaving the wake spinning. Always think of a spin as a wake jump then a spin not a wake jump spin. Hold 2 hands as long as possible as this will place the handle right were it needs to be. Also learn them small before taking them w2w |
When learning this trick I was told to remember three things - pop - pull - spin
From your video take a slightly more progressive edge and remember to take your pop up - at the apex of the jump pull the handle to your hip and initiate the spin - on the handle pass try putting the back of your free hand right on your ass - that way the hand will be right there for a easy short pass (keep the handle in low and close to your hip on the pull and spin section. Landing shouldn't be an issue as you look super close in some of your vids - again just take the jump straight up and then spin! You're close - good luck! |
thanks!
primarily what im looking for is tips on how to stay on axis. but any advice is greatly appreciated! |
Tuck your knees longer, look over your shoulder, spot your landing.

Man what are you doing riding my river!?
Seriously though, absolutely love that place. You ever see a black and white 02 SANTE wave me down, we trailer there every now and again. Most of the tips have been said, but first you gotta clear the wakes. What's worse than spinning off axis...? Spinning on axis and coming down buckling your knees on the crest of the wake. |
Most the guys have already given everything you need to know but before going wake to wake take all these tips mentioned and learn this trick inside out going about 18 mph or so.. Promise you if you get them consistent taking them wake to wake after this will be an easy transition.
|
you're pullin with one hand off the bat, pull with two hands and when you get that rope in your hand on the pass hold onto don't bail. the wake to wake part will come you just can't be scared about it.
|
Your first few attempts look perfect. You just need to clear the wake and get a little more time in the air. You're ready to do it wake to wake. go for it.
|
yeah these vid were a bit odd, usually i only go 1 wake, but we took a trip to brazos river and the glass water was giving me a lot more bite on my cut than i usually get, sending me into the second wake. unfortuantly it was the only time we videoed. they other thing different than 99% of the time usually i always land on my back. ie fall off axis leaned too far against the rope. but this was not the case in the video. i was leaning towards the landing wake.
i will try to get some vids of my "normal" attempts. Davis, i would MUCH rather land on axis and crush my knees, than this landing on my back crap ive been doing forever. HUGE thanks! keep the tips coming! going to try again thursday |
first attemp was ok last five not so much. you're thinking about the crash not the trick, a lot of wakeboarding is mental
You gotta want it |
A few thoughts after wtching your ideo. First I would take a wider approach with less angle. Like 45 degrees but enough edge to clear the wakes. This allows you to have a soft rope and makes the handle pass easier.
Second, it looks like you are thinking "360" the whole way. Try and look at it as 2 separate 180's. Do the first 180 with your shoulders level to the lake, then if it feels good pass the handle and complete the rotation. Thinking of it as two 180's always helps me stay on axis. |
Like Tommy said wider approach and less edge[more of a legs only] will make for less line tension and easier to stay on axis.Good Luck!
