Take a tour of the Sanger factory with the head of Sanger boats and world record holder Scott Pellaton. He shows every part of the boat building process and helps explain a lot of what goes into the process. If you watch the show "how its made" and are interested in boats this is worth watching.

http://www.eaglewetsuits.com/videos/sangerboats/SangerFactoryTour.wmv

WOW...gotta love Sanger!!! thanks for the video!

montana_sanger 03-26-2008 11:46 AM

Over an hour but well worth the time, this is a rough version according to Scott (some back ground noise etc), but it does a great job explaining why most Sanger owners are so happy with their boats. As you will see they really do go the extra mile in their building process.

I first rode in a Sanger in the late sixties as a teen, the quality then was obvious to me, and I knew someday I'd own one.
Well, three boats and thirty years later, I bought my new V-210 in '99. It has been absolutely (besides our house) the best purchase I have ever made.
I would buy another in a heartbeat (if I needed one)

Good video. I get a kick out of Scott going into all the detail on how Sanger doesn't use chopper guns while some of his competitors do. Let's see, from previous Wakeworld discussions, Skier's Choice doesn't use chopper guns, nor does Malibu, Mastercraft or Criss Craft (Nautique). So I would love to have old Scott tell us who he believes his competitors are that use chopper guns. I like Sangers, but let's be real about it - their build process is pretty much the same as every other competitor. Note, I am not hating on Sangers - I think they are a really solid boat, but how about being real here?

wakejunky 03-26-2008 3:25 PM

that must be an older video because I thought Sanger finally got away from wood stringers. There was alot of discussion on the wood stringer
Oh and they've made 2 million boats...sure!

Chris
get the grip you deserve
www.wakejunky.com

The company the panel comes from, not Sanger that would be pretty hard @ 400 hulls a year.

How does one get to take a tour of the Sanger factory? I'm a water dog and would surely call in sick to take a tour of my favorite boat factory!

trdon 03-26-2008 8:21 PM

I just finished it and it was pretty good. Things got a little slow but I stuck through it. Really interesting ,some of the stuff. It was hard to go all hour and ten on it.

rallyart 03-26-2008 9:14 PM

Wakejunky, those are 2008 boats they're building so it can't be a very old video. I bet Aquabeam has used there product in 2 million boats. It's a pretty nicely engineered piece of wood.
Thanks for posting Jeff. Of course it's kind of like preaching to the converted, here. I would guess it's made for dealers to get everyone enthused about the build quality and features.

Great video, really enjoyed it! Glad I bought a V210 for many reasons!

duckguy 03-26-2008 9:21 PM

I can tell you that I do not know how Malibu's are made after they saw the MC shirt it was a no go on the factory tour.

zammer 03-26-2008 9:23 PM

This video must be very recent as the Lime Green V237 in the Video looks like the one in this thread from a couple days ago that was said to be just about to be finished..

www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/3183/557219.html?1206032446

"This wood will not rot" Hahahahahah!!!! Funny stuff.

scwellman 03-27-2008 5:51 PM

Makes me glad I bought an 08 V215, Man it is solid in the chop and I love the new wakeair tower.

wake_upppp 03-27-2008 5:59 PM

If Sanger was gonna get away from wood stringers they would of done it by now. They know it's superior for shock absorbtion and ride quality, and when encapsulated correctly, will last indefinetly.

Can someone help? The link has not been working for me the last two days. I started to watch it and thought I had saved it. Can someone either post up a new link or send a copy to my e-mail? Thanks for the help.
