Australian Aluminum Wakeboat hits water
One very determined Aussie finally gets his aluminum wakeboat on the water. This guy has pretty much done this by himself. Results for the first water test look very impressive. Can't wait to see it on a calm day with some wake shots.

Pretty cool. I winder how well an AL closed bow direct drive boat would sell? Lol

What is the advantage of building in aluminum?
|
Michael - Since the EPA took all the good/bad VOC solvents boat manufactures has been had many issues with gel coat. I dont know about cost but powdercoating would be a snap compared to gelcoat.

There is another video on there as well. Without any ballast that boat makes zero wake.

did this not happen in brazil a few years back. That steel 210 clone?
|
Wakepowel is right. This did happen in brazil a few years ago but if my memory is correct it was a d-drive. It did have a shape similar to a 210. I remember remarking that the motor was to far forward and you could tell from the pictures at idle that it was veryyy nose heavy.

There is an aluminum wake boat being made in the US. The Aus one looks like it is a direct drive if you watch the other videos on Youtube.
