I actually was in need of a battery this weekend and ended up with a yellow top from Costco... $183.....OUCH.... I just wanted a Costco marine, but they were out....so the Yellow Top was my next choice....

Before you but the optima, why do you need it? there are better or just as good out there.

Had them in my last boat and had good luck with them. Just dont remember which ones I had, not to mention at the price I'm getting them at I'm sure I probably cant find better for less.

Sam,
Could you elaborate on some other choices and cost? I am in the market and would like to know what is actually better.

D31M has more power (i.e. cranking amps and reserve capacity) than the D34M

http://www.optimabatteries.com/publish/optima/americas0/en/config/product_info/marine/technical_specs.html

zaner1, would you like to pass on those prices to anyone else?

zaner1 05-30-2007 12:20 PM

evilOne,
I have a buddy who works for a large company that builds trucks. The company made a deal to start using optimas, and as employees they are allowed to purchase two batteries a year at this price. $65.00 ea.

evil0ne 05-30-2007 2:08 PM

I'll take 2.

The d31 is also larger and heavier than the d34, I run 8 of the d34's in my boat and so far they have been sufficient for my needs.
