Liquid Force Super Trip 134

peter19u 07-09-2013 9:49 AM

Thanks slipknot. Trying to pick up a board from the evo outlet to save some ### so if you have time can you look through the ones they have and see what you think would be best. He is almost able to clear the wake and is learing to jump

peter19u 07-09-2013 10:21 AM

I found a good deal on a 135 marek board and the new system bindings would that work

peter19u 07-09-2013 10:29 AM

so the marek 135 board is for people who weight 140 and up so maybe I would be better off going with the liquid force 135 Watson which is for riders from 90-170lbs. Would the system bindings work on the Watson or should I go with liquid force bindings

slipknot 07-09-2013 10:38 AM

Watson 134
Ronix Vault 134
LF S4 134

ask about the Blem warranty as well

texfrost 07-09-2013 10:39 AM

Make sure he likes the system bindings. That tends to be a love hate relationship. I know a lot of guys that love them for the cable. I don't see where the Watson would hurt. Is there a local marina that will let him demo the boards first? I don't buy anything without having it on my feet for at least two sets to make sure it's what I want. Sometimes the Marina will cut you a break on last season's model too.

peter19u 07-09-2013 10:54 AM

good idea. He is a snowboarder and likes the closed boot. That's why I was looking at the system but maybe I am better off getting a closed boot that mounts directly to the board. this stuff gets expensive quick and that's why I was looking at the evo outet site. Any other boot and board recommendations would be appreciated. He is just learning to jump and is getting close to clearing the wake.

Thanks again,

Pete

If he is a snowboarder he needs to be on a Humanoid. That is why I ride the Oracle. I don't know if they make one small enough but you can get their boards for STUPID cheap online. I fell in love with the Oracle over anything else because it reacts and responds just like I want a snowboard to react and respond. I cannot exaggerate that enough. When I want it to lock down and hold an edge it will, but it is super playful and fun in the cable park too.

They sell factory direct. Check em out.

My Oracle.

Check overstock.com. They have all the old Gator boards for a darn good price.

peter19u 07-09-2013 12:02 PM

Thanks guys. If they do not make an Oracle that would fit his size and weight (smallest looks to be a 137) what other board out there would react like a snowboard.

Thx, Pete

texfrost 07-09-2013 9:03 PM

I really have no idea for that one. Humanoid kinda set out to build decks with that in mind. I'm not overly surprised they don't make one small enough for him though. I'm not up to date for this season either. I haven't even been out behind a boat all summer.

stxr_racer 07-09-2013 11:39 PM

Was going to suggest LF Watson 130 but don't see any on the evo site. Maybe check out the LF Harley 131? 135 might be a little big for him.

peter19u 07-10-2013 8:31 AM

I was hoping to get him something he could grow into and use for a few years so that's why I was thinking the 134 but maybe you are right.

bschall 07-10-2013 11:02 AM

check out Wakeroots.com Lots of closeouts there.

shawndoggy 07-10-2013 11:46 AM

I just got my son the 132 byerly monarch from evo, with byerly boots. All in it was like $250 or something. He really likes it.

http://www.evo.com/outlet/wakeboards...eboard-52.aspx

looks like you could get the deck only for about $100 from evo right now with the wake22 code.

peter19u 07-10-2013 12:51 PM

Thanks for the above link. He mentioned he wants to try some closed binding since he does a lot of snowboarding so would that be a good idea or not. If so which ones on the evo outlet would you recommend. I was looking at these http://www.evo.com/outlet/wakeboard-...rce-soven.aspx
I was hoping to take advantage of the wake 22 code. How old is you son Shawndoggy? I was thinking about the LF Watson 134 so he could use if for a few seasons. Between snowboarding and wakeboarding gear I am going broke!!!

shawndoggy 07-10-2013 12:58 PM

My guy is 14 and 105 lbs.

shawndoggy 07-10-2013 12:59 PM

They have all three sizes of the monarch for that price. The 52 is still huge... Not much smaller than the board I ride at 165lbs.

He was previously on a 125 state and this is a big step up.

peter19u 07-10-2013 1:09 PM

You have a rail just like I do. My son is 13 and about 100lbs. So sounds like I should stick with a 132 and not go to a 134-135. I see they have a 2011 in 52 and a 2012 Monarch also in 132. Is there a difference between the 2011 and 2012 besides the graphics. Why lake you know normally ride at. We are usually at Oroville and Bullards during the summer and Nstar or Sugarbowl during the winters

peter19u 07-10-2013 1:10 PM

I think my son had that same 135 state. Is it a white board with blue lettering??

shawndoggy 07-10-2013 3:07 PM

Yep, that's the board.

Dunno about the differences in model years. Honestly, he's just a w2w heelside hero, so any old board will work I think. He is really liking the close toed boots.

We do bullards a lot too. Will be down there 22-26 on a houseboat. Also pyramid on the weekends. Cleanup sucks, but weekend water can't be beat.

peter19u 07-10-2013 3:16 PM

Sorry, my son had the 125 slate as well. He loves riding the terrain parks at Nstar and is now just getting into wakeboarding and is getting pretty close to clearing the wake and getting air so I hear ya. Just don't want to spend a ton of money on a new setup. Sounds like the setup you got your son is the way to go. Maybe we will see you on the slopes or lake sometime.

Are these the bindings you got him:

http://www.evo.com/outlet/wakeboard-...lack_Image.jpg

shawndoggy 07-10-2013 4:22 PM

no they were the 2011 pro bindings, which appear to be gone now.

peter19u 07-10-2013 5:04 PM

yeah, they were out of those so I got the last pair of the onset bindings which just happened to be his size. Figure I couldn't go wrong at that price.
