Wake Scootering!?! A New Sport (Kinda)

Ok so some of you may have seen videos of the CWB team and a couple other pros wakeboarding on a 25 foot long rope and doing mini tricks. They called it Wake Scootering.
My two friends and I thought that it looked fun, so we weighted down a G23, put the surf gate out and gave it a shot… the result was F-ING AWESOME!! It was honestly the most fun I've had on the water in a long time.

Check out the video of it in the link below! & Show it to your friends or share it on social media, everyone should know about Wake Scootering!

Looks like I found a way to try a tantrum to blind. Catching that back edge at full speed kind of scares me off. Thanks!

CWB had a similar little "contest" .... you've got competition!

Yeah, like I explained above the link, we saw that video & they inspired us to try it!

Reading is hard, sorry.

Looks like Jordan's group was able to get a much cleaner wake at 25 feet than the CWB was able to ... at least on the side they were hitting.

How did you get the wake so clean at 12 mph?

My guess is this:

put the surf gate out and gave it a shot…

Ha, looks like I have a hard time reading as well.

Yup, Nick is right! Literally all that we did was weigh the boat down like we were going surfing, but we went a little faster... like 12-13 mph and put the surf gate out on the side that we wanted to hit, then we switched it to the other side if we wanted to do a switch or toeside trick. That's why the wake is perfect on one side and washy on the other.. which wasn't bad at all, it was like landing on a pillow every time!

A few years back I wrecked my ankle and couldn't wakeboard .... so I did a similar thing, but that summer (at least part of it) I took up kneeboarding .... but shorter rope and slow. It was actually shockingly fun.

Wow dude, you actually make kneeboarding look kind of badass in those pictures haha but if you want wakeboard without getting wrecked again, then I'd definitely recommend Wake Scootering.. the falls never hurt & when you land, it feels like you're landing in like 3 ft of powder on a snowboard

Must have been my work computer. I got it to play on my phone, looks like a lot of fun. This will be a must do next time I'm out riding.

That's awesome... At 00:53 that dude was diving for the bottom

WakeJp12 07-22-2015 11:59 AM

Thanks dude! & yeah that's the only tricky part about Wake Scootering, your board tends to get sucked under a lot haha
