My CD player controls on the back of the 'bu arent working anymore. I can see things on the display, aka Volume, Radio Station, etc, but the buttons dont work. This is on the transom and the driver controls! I've replaced the headunit with a comprable sony hu that has the same kind of setup - still no work.

This happened to anyone else? I would really like to be able to control the stereo from the transom once again!

I have heard that when the transom remotes fail it affects the whole system/Might want to try unplugging it and see what happens.

Yes, one plug partially unplugged will cause havok on the whole system. check all the connections for the remotes. I've experienced this problem.

Does anyone know the best way to get to the one attached on the transom?!

You should be able to get to the back of it thru the rear compartment hatch. There also should be a y-spilter behind the HU.

I had the same problem. Mine came unplugged from the head unit. It was the small RCA cable above the antenna connection (black in color, if I remember right). I used a mechanics mirror to make sure it was in the right hole.
