Does a woofer generaly sound better out on the water vs drive way?

No, it seems like it's the opposite.

imo with larger subs they do sound better on the water... the water seems to tighten everything up.. my last boat with one single 15 sounded like crap in the driveway but when it was in the water sounded great..

Richard's boat with two 15s is probably the exception to the rule for your question. Most of us other humble people with a 12 or two will typically hear better performance in a quiet surrounding. Keep in mind Richard's system is rivals some small stadiums... LOL.

"rivals some small stadiums" funny mike... although my neighbors would have to agree, theyve had to reattach a few pictures to the wall...

Don't let a few things like neighbors hold you back. One day your neighbors will move, but you'll still have those 15s!

Unless your neighbors slice through the 15s with a knife on their last trip out the door. "Honey, go ahead and start the car and put it in Drive, I've got one last thing to give to the neighbor."

My 12" sub sounds better on the water than in my drive way.
