Straight line - (free motion) fat sac issues

So i just got delivery on my fat sacs the other day. They appear to use the same pump and ports as the sumo sacs. but every time i try to fill the sac the pump will pump more water than the sac can accept and it over flows. has anyone had this issue with their sumo sacs?

Thanks,

Jess

to clarify a bit more ... water will push out past where the hose is connected on the in port.

anyone?

Is this plumbed into your boat with vent lines? Or are you using a separate pump to fill on the seats/floor? If no vent or a separate pump, you have to stop the pump before you overfill. If you overfill you should expect it to leak back out.

I'm just using a pump plugged into my acc. The sac only gets a few gallons in it before it starts to push out thru the opening. Like the opening isn't big enough to accept the amount of water being pumped.

Jess,
Sounds like an issue with the Link Valve port on top. If the internal plunger does not open all of the way the bag will not be able to accept all of the water that you are trying to pump in. Make sure there is nothing obstructing the valve system. If it seems like the bag has a defect call the-house and warranty them.
Thanks,
Spencer

yeah i have looked at that plunger setup on all the bags... just strange that i would get 2 defects... maybe even 3 i didnt bother to test the third after the first 2 did it... i'm in contact with the company i purchased from ... we'll see what gets accomplished. I have depressed the plunger my self and it appears to be functioning correctly.

If there are o-rings on the pump make sure that they are in place and still in good condition.

yep they were brand new ... i have a new set on its way today. hopefully these work correctly. my guess is it is a problem with the pump... meaning the connector may not be pushing the valve in far enough... so we will see when this set gets in.. Props to DJs boardshop on the customer service thus far.

i have that problem on a old. the gasket on my pump is shot for the inlet pump though, check there as well.

Boarder 42,
I am wondering if you have an update on this issue? I bought the same sac from DJ's Board Shop (http://www.djsboardshop.com/p-44235-...40lb-pump.aspx) and have the same issue.

Thanks!!!

Yep... here is what you need to do email liquid force customer service. The issue was the Orings were incorrectly sized. They will mail you 2 orings. They didnt know this when i went thru the process so they upgraded me to 3 600lb sumo sacs and a sumo pump... so i got the hookup ...but now i hear they are just sending out new orings to people.

Contact Liquid Force or DJs?

jhartt3 06-27-2013 9:38 AM

either or... both

HotTubTony 06-27-2013 9:43 AM

I appreciate it B42!!! I have started that process and look forward to the extra weight in the boat!

jhartt3 06-27-2013 9:51 AM

you will love it...

fouroheight68 06-27-2013 11:53 AM

Why contact liquid force? The pumps/bags are made by straightline

fouroheight68 06-27-2013 12:04 PM

Nevermind, didnt know they were owned by liquid force. Spoke to them and it sounds like a larger o-ring is needed
