This breaks my heart man...... Not any time soon unfortunately.... whats the next holiday haha? Thanksgiving?

I am amazed at how many wakeboats I see cruising up Pacific Coast Highway near Long beach by the way..... I need to flag one of these dudes down haha.

If you find youself near LA..... you've got my number!

turbonine 03-19-2014 11:12 AM

Water temp at Bartlett was 63/64 last weekend.

We rode dirty this weekend. Just Mr BombWake and I. Shredded the Gnar for a good six hours! Gas bill was horrendous.

http://i1141.photobucket.com/albums/...psmbzmhrjw.jpg

For the record, my boat only holds 35 gallons

Thanks for the report.
That gas bill looks painful!!! My x30 has a 60 gallon tank and is about 1/4 full:(

ers906 03-24-2014 10:49 AM

Curt, the G holds 65 gallons of premium ($$$$$$$$). Pulled it on Sat with 0.7 gallons left in it. Not bad for pulling 50 riders on the day, full ballast and a dozen people in the boat (coming out of the hole probably 75+ times). Thanks for all your help, I am def going to cruise out for the pleasant surf comp.

durty_curt 03-24-2014 5:27 PM

That's really good in my book! Sadly i took next to no photos, as i left my phone on my boat with Mr BombWake and Co while being on yours practically all day. And that's probably a good thing. As I got a bidet feeling a handful of times judging in the back. And drenched when i decided it was safer in the front ;)

http://i1141.photobucket.com/albums/...s2ff6n6hr.jpeg

And yet the best photos i have are of your other nautique.

Water/Air temps were perfect. Looking forward to the long days of summer!

durty_curt 05-15-2014 11:04 PM

Last week the temps weren't too good... Remember how hazy it was?
http://i1141.photobucket.com/albums/...ps8iq7y1jk.jpg
Yeah thats looking directly into the sun.
Cold enough that we had to bust out the foot warmer!
http://i1141.photobucket.com/albums/...psb201izag.jpg

And so windy that we had to ride at "the place beyond the pines" (it's a movie)

http://i1141.photobucket.com/albums/...psarwnnhns.jpg
Aka past the no wake zone where RAF practically lives at the lake. Pretty crazy going fast back there, pretty darn narrow...

jonsquatch 05-16-2014 9:47 AM

Wimps... you need a heater in that thing... ;-) You think it was cold here you should have been in California, it was so cold at Canyon Lake CA that I refused to do a practice run on a G21. Thats right I turned down a chance to ride the G21 before my competition run. With no sun I didn't want to sit in the shade in the wind wet waiting to dry off before my second run...

spencercoon 05-16-2014 10:45 AM

Ha ha, that area past the buoys is always nice! One issue though is that it seems to have the majority of the drift wood/floating debris...

You may wanna post what city you reside in so the people near you and that lake can hit you up.

And I'm weeks behind on posting up here...

Got out today and during the last week day as well. Canyon lake is 68

Saguaro is 72

ripr 11-18-2014 8:49 AM

Another dumb question for you guys:

How are the ramps at the popular lakes around the PHX area? Reason I ask is I'm going to buy an inexpensive work truck and am getting mixed information on the need for 4WD.

Would a full size 2wd pick up work for most the ramps most of the time. I won't be towing to the lake with it that much, but just wanted to get some opinions. Thanks.

Saguaro lake Dock 1 you'll be fine. Dock 2 you'll need a couple buddies to stand on the back bumper. Same thing for the ramp at Canyon lake.

jonsquatch 11-19-2014 10:10 AM

What the Coon says... depends a lot on the boat though....

With my current 210 and anything heavier its a bit of a struggle at times at Canyon and Saguaro ramp 2 with my 2004 2WD Silverado 1500 where it was fine with a lighter boat. If you plan on going to Apache, Roosevelt, or Pleasant (at least the 10 lane and the Pleasant harbor marina) 4WD sounds like a damn good idea. I have only used the main ramp at Bartlett and I would prefer a 4WD.

A with a lighter boat, better tires, and perhaps a heavier short wheel base tow vehicle and you would be fine with a 2WD. I use a 4WD 3/4 ton Suburban with a mild lift and 33's to tow with most of the time and it works great and often I don't need 4WD but it comes in very handy.

Hey Curtis,
How have you been!!
You folks look like you are having way too much fun out there!!
I'm jealous, I have to run down to Florida just to find some above freezing temps :(
Good to see you are out there having a blast.
Craig

durty_curt 11-20-2014 9:00 PM

I've been good Craig, how's the boat doing? You added a diy surf gate on it right?

ripr 11-21-2014 10:59 AM

Nice!!! Thanks for the info guys...ended up picking up a 4wd Yukon from a private owner. Hoping to hit the lake weekend after thanksgiving!

moto96s 11-23-2014 6:39 AM

Yeah,
I have a home made swim platform based gate for each side now and they actually work pretty great.
The Bu is all put away for the winter as of last weekend and we are just waiting on the snow :(
I have actually been doing more surfing than waking this past summer as I have kind of hit a wall on wakeboarding due to my age and physical conditioning.
The surfing has turned out to be a fantastic physical therapy for my knees and back as well as the rest of my body, and it is a blast!
Good to talk to you.
Craig

You would have to email, fb message or DM on Instagram them to see about purchasing apparel/swag from the wake devils

Whenever anyone from the Az crew is ready to dust off the winter cob webs let me know... Just moved to Peoria and looking to join up for a set and meet some riders for the next few months until I can make the trip home to bring my boat out here. Intermediate/advanced rider, respectful and can help with any aspect of the day. Always got $ for gas and down to wake up early. You name the lake I'll make the drive.

morning riding

As suggested by Coon for those loyal to the AZV thread... I said hello a while back, hooked up a few rides with some nice folks. Went home over Easter and rescued the boat from storage in norcal to finish my move. We made the 1,000 mile journey without complications, now it's time to give her a bath!

looking to catch an early morning set saturday 4-25 or sunday 4-26. Have one for sure sunday so that would be the preference. Would like to get on the water shortly after the sun perks up and grab a set before the crowds drop in. don't necessarily need to rush off the water, but looking for a crew with riding in mind. If your interested hit me up. Thinking pleasant or bartlett... for those curious or concerned, I have a 2003 X2 and extra bags to dial the wake.

As Eric suggested, y'all better start waking up early to get the good water, especially with the winds we've been having lately.

Looks like you scored some water Curt! Not sure if you were saying you went early or got lucky later in the day? Either way I'm envious, stormed scared off the crew Saturday night and I was cussing the calm after the storm Sunday morning. Glad someone was making good use of it! Ever need another body in the boat let know...

durty_curt 04-27-2015 3:03 PM

Sadly that wasn't from this weekend but just a few days earlier during the weekday. From most of my friends that did go out, they said it was pretty rough due to wind, rain and yes hail.

I've been back a few times. I'll be out there on the 6th, gonna be at saguaro on the 7th i believe...

Parents still have the Tige, but you'll probably see it make an appearance on Clist in the coming months...so if you know anyone...biggest wave you'll find behind a 20V.

If only I could find a job in AZ.

I drive by a malibu dealer on PCH everyday and tear up a little :(

Thinking about going to Bartlett Sunday morning around 7:00 if anyone wants to meetup for an early set... Let me know! 925-330-5341

Orange 08-16-2015 1:30 PM

Anyone been to Bartlett recently that can tell me if Yellow Cliffs boat launch is open? I recall it being closed most of last year and haven't been to Bartlett since.

durty_curt 08-16-2015 8:35 PM

Which launch ramp is that? The dirt one or the second ramp half way to the back?

Orange 08-16-2015 10:44 PM

It's the concrete ramp a couple miles up from the marina ramp... possible I have the wrong name, but it's very improved, has a very small dock, and definitely not the dirt launch, though not too far away. It's slightly smaller than the main launch, but somewhat comparable. I don't remember if it was last year or two years ago that it was close for the year due to low water levels, but I'm not sure how low the water has to get before they close it. SRP's website says the water depth is 23 feet at Yellow Cliffs which suggests it is open unless Tonto Forest Service has shut it down to save money - one less set of trash cans and outhouses to empty.

cccbuilders 08-17-2015 12:25 PM

it is open. at least it was 1 week ago.
