Can anyone give me any suggestions of a board that will give me lots of pop/air without having a big wake? The boats I ride behind, a 17 ft. 1986 Rinker and 20 ft. 2000 Maxum, both I/Os, don't give any massive wakes. And no one else on the lake where I ride has any type of boat suited for boarding. I am unable to demo boards where I live and ride so I'll probably have to end up purchasing it online. For Hyperlite the Parks will give you the most pop, it has an abrupt 3 stage rocker. I'm not sure what LF, CWB, etc. offer just look for one with an abrupt rocker to it as that is what usually generates the most pop. You may want to demo though because I've heard that such an abrupt rocker is tougher to ride for an intermediate riding. Look at the manufacturers website they usually describe what type of launch each board will have. Then come back and ask about specific boards on this post, and check out the classifieds here there are a ton of boards for sale at pretty good prices.

I second the Parks. I have the Premier and the Parks. When we ride behind my boat with no ballast and a smaller wake "not to often" I prefer the Parks over the Premier, but when weighted and a large wake I prefer the Premier.

The CWB Transcend popped harder than anything I have ridden. Including the Parks.

Joyride has a few shapes like the birdman and the hellcat that have three stage rockers at about three inches. These boards pop pretty huge and land relatively softly. They are pretty new in the industry but have some really innovative designs.

I've never ridden the parks, but I ride a premier. I know that the premier offers a whole lot of pop, so if people say that the parks gives even more then I would definatly say to go with the parks.

Yeah the Premier does have good pop too and depending on your ability might get you a more consistent higher pop than the Parks. The Parks you have to hit it just right. But if you hwent head to head with a rider with above average ability riding both boards, than most people would say between the two the Parks has more pop.

a byerly will do it.

joyride has a big rocker. I know this doesnt really count. But look how big nick ennen goes on a joyride with the 3 inch rocker. He goes the biggest I have ever seen on 5's, roll2reverts, and tantrums. Check one out, I dont own one but I want to try one myself.

I ride behind a ski boat that doesn't get much wake and the Blindside Billy McKee I just bought pops like crazy.

you could weigh down that maxum and get a good size wake. I got a Larson I/O w/joystick tower and got some water bed tubes in the front and a nice fat sack in the ski locker. fill it with a few friends and gas and its golden. the wake is nice and rampy. friend with a malibu has a bigger wake but it doesnt have that sharp rampy wake that my i/o has. subjekt, premier, parks, substance, gonzalez are boards nice pop.

The McKee is a good board. <BR> <BR>Just a thought here... everyone mentions what board, but wouldn't a bigger board provide better pop and one with the least amount of rocker? I find better pop with a continuous, flatter (i.e. LF) board on a smaller wake.

i had the premier rode the parks and now have the byerly. the parks gives you nice pop but its a real slow board it pushes the water becuz the rocker is so big. the premier had nice pop but it didnt really give me the kick like the byerly. the byerly suited me the best but everyones different.

I have the Harris and have rode the Baller and both of them have pretty good pop. I don't know how they are compared to the parks or the premier, but I ride behind a bayliner for the most part and average 5-6 feet.
