Warrior Dash

Any one done/doing the Warrior Dash race? http://www.warriordash.com/

Wife and some friends are checking it out this Saturday http://www.warriordash.com/register2011_washington.php

Location is a few miles from our house so we'll just down there and back. Should be a blast!

did it earlier this year. if your going for the exercise or feelig of accomplishment...it's a joke, lol. tough mudder is supposedly a bit harder.

I too did it earlier this year...it's not super difficult but was an overall fun experience, mostly enjoyed wierdo watching.

Did it this Spring and wife signed us up to do it again this Fall. Like everyone said, it's not all it's cracked up to be. Fun but not really challenging.

Pissed at ours they said beer, fireworks, and party after the race so we ran in the morn8ing, went home cleaned up had dinner and went back and it was a ghost town. Supposed to stay open till 10pm and Medal ceremony at 8pm with fireworks, but they closed BEER at 745!!!!!!!! Dude next to me had 30 tickets and they wouldn't serve him. we were the last ones out at 8:30. People who ran the last wave, some didn't finish before the Beer truck closed. Total BS!

I'll second the general opinion that it's fun but not really a challenging race. I've done a lot of different kind of endurance races in the last 10 years and the feeling that I had leaving Warrior Dash was that it's a total commercial money grab and designed to be that way. Being not all that long (5k) or difficult, it can appeal to the maximum number of participants even the weekenders. In Temecula, CA they had wave after wave for two days. It's not all that cheap either. Then, they're selling all kinds of stuff making it more than just the race. You could easily blow through $100 for a 5k race (half marathons and the majority of marathons are cheaper than that). With the beer garden and all the food sales it's possible to participate and come home eating more calories than you burn that day. In the end, it was all about Warrior Dash, Inc. and the money they could rake in. If you're just getting started in endurance races - why not - it's short, fun and a kick in the a*s! That said, I've checked that box and don't need to again. That's my 2 cents.

Agreed with The above. It was fun for a first time race, but i was a bit underwhelmed by the entire experience. It was not "the craziest fricken day of my life!" by a longshot. However, i think if u have a good size group of people, and have a costume theme, that would make it more fun.

I'm doing the tough mudder in nor cal in September. Can't wait. It looks like much more fun than warrior dash.

Ok, that was kinda fun and would do it again. We biked down to the main parking lot which was about 5 miles from our house. Did the race with my wife, so at her pace, caught up with people, had a drink and then ran back to our bikes (~3 miles) and then biked home, showered, headed to our after race BBQ for more beers ;)

Would like to see a harder course, harder and more frequent challenges. There was such a mix of fitness and abilities out there that it made things interesting watching people tackle the course. I run our dog thru parts of the course, should have brought him with.
