Texas Gov. Rick Perry for President?

What do you think? News is he's "thinking about running."

Uh, Perry makes Dubya look smart. I don't think a secessionist would garner too many votes nationwide...

"In each of these campaigns, Perry adopted a tough stance on crime, even going so far as to veto a ban on the execution of the mentally retarded. This did not, however, prevent the mentally retarded from continuing to vote for him time and again.

Highlights of Rick Perry’s gubernatorial tenure include: a near-record use of vetoes; a grant of $20 million dollars to Countrywide Financial right before it collapsed; staunch support of Texas’ anti-sodomy laws even though the U.S. Supreme Court overwhelmingly struck them down; vocal belief in the absolute inerrancy of the Bible, even the parts with the talking snake, the rib that grows into a woman, and the dude who gets eaten by a whale, which then, after housing him quite comfortably for three days inside its digestive tract, disgorges him completely unscathed. In February 2007, Perry issued an executive order mandating that all Texas girls be vaccinated against HPV, which causes cervical cancer, blatantly ignoring the long-established fact that any time a public figure, no matter how well intentioned, goes messing with a teenager’s reproductive system, it’s going to make for real bad headlines.

In April 2009, Rick Perry endorsed a resolution supporting Texas’ secession from the United States. This move has officially branded him a total crackpot; even the people at Fox News think so."

You sir are no smarter than Perry...

The actual quote is,

"There's a lot of different scenarios," Perry said. "We've got a great union. There's absolutely no reason to dissolve it. But if Washington continues to thumb their nose at the American people, you know, who knows what might come out of that. But Texas is a very unique place, and we're a pretty independent lot to boot."

I suppose you think Palin actually said that she can see Russia from her house...

You sir, are a GENIUS!

Sam, relax - I think you're taking this too seriously. Who doesn't love a little Dickipedia? :-) If it makes you feel better, here's their writeup on Biden:

Sam, I agree with you about people taking things to literal, but Palin actually believes that she can see Russia from her house.

Besides, Perry is another one of the "Fiscally Responsible Yadayadayada" that bashes Washington spending, yet has no problem sticking out his hand for billions in stimulus money.

He might be a good candidate, if you like hypocrites.

Tricky Dicky Perry is another in the long line of embarrassments to come out of Texas politics. The guy is an idiot who panders to the lowest common denominator - in other words - the perfect Republican candidate.

Lowest Common Denominator is usually called FACTS in most political arenas.
