Just got mine fixed last week! I posted a thread called "Mystery Beeps", and had a couple good responses. Ended up being the oil pressure sensor. They hooked it up to the computer, and it led them right to it. They were able to warranty it for me!

Anyway, mine was the EXACT same problem you're describing, and they said they have a had a few problems with those sensors. Had it back in two days.

Good luck!

Glad to hear you finally got that taken care of Rik!
|
Yeah Lou, it was killin me! Glad it was a quick easy fix.

Kyle, are you under warranty? I can call to try and see what the charge would have been if you want?

Im not sure if the motor has a 2 year war. if it does it should be covered. My oil pressure guage was reading fine through out the day. My dealer is open tomorow so I will call them thanks
|
Cool. Yeah, all my guages read fine as well. Not exactly sure of the "detailed" connection, and maybe it was a realated sensor, but either way, it was dead on what you mentioned, and they should be able to find it quickly.

Take care

Not to hijack, but I have a related problem on my I/O.

I have a Chaparral 186SSI with a mercruiser 5.0, after we have been on the water for a while it beeps for about 3-5 seconds, goes off and comes back on a few minutes later. I all guages read good, outdrive lube full, oil full, I change the impeller every year.

It seams to do it more when I come out of throttle back to idle, any ideas??

Thanks
|
Same issue. Sounds just like the old malibu prob. Does it in idle and when you back off the throttle. It was always the oil pressure sensor. All my friends with that year boat ended up cutting the wire cuz it was soo damn annoying.
|
So you think it is my oil sender on my I/O.

Makes sense if that is it.
