I will soon receive my Skylon X-Treme Swoop Tower. I plan to install the tower on my 2006 Sea Ray 185. I have read many tips on how to install it – and that is not my primary question as I have read lots of those threads / posts already. My question is “Where do I install the Tower Mounts (4)?” What are my considerations?

1- I am concerned about my vision?

2- I heard that you do not want to mount it too far back??? What are the guidelines?

3- Is it better to place the mounts in an upright position if possible? (not on the sides) - Just forward of the windshield there is an area that is flat (a step) seems like a good spot to mount it (the front mounts)

4- Is it ok to have the front mounted upright and the rear on the sides? Can the front mounts be closer together than the rear????

5- What else should I consider???.

I will apologize ahead of time for the lack of depth; mounting your bases on the top of your gunnels will give you the most strength. Make sure the bases and under plates are mounted FLUSH!

Oh, and yes, being able to see is important too! jk
