Rip in cover
1 Attachment(s)
Can fix this rip myself? If so what is the best way of doing it. It is at the back of the boat so dont really care what it looks like.

My wife got me some thick iron on patches from like Joanne Fabric or something. It was thicker than the sunbrella. We then ironed it on good on the backside and sewed around it several times. Can't barely see it and holds up great.

^^^ thanks
this is on my 08 MC X15. Never really cared for this cover. It has a ratching system that tightens down the whole thing using a strap all the way around the bump rail. the racthers are metel so if not careful you can bang it off the boat and cause damage. but the biggest thing is that it pools/leaks water. should i have gotten poles with it? |
I have a few rips in my cover too. I used the same thing. You can go to WalMart and get some "IRON ON JEAN PATCHES" I ironed them on both sides and then stitched around the perimeter of the patch... been going strong for 4 years now.

Take it to any local upholstery shop. It can be patched with similar material as the cover is made from for like $20. And they can sew it up so it can take the stress from the straps.
I had one done this winter. The guy had it done in a couple hours & cost me $20. |
