Axis Traditional Bow A22

Heard Axis will be dropping a traditional bow with a walkthru instead of the chillax seating. Not sure why as you will loose ballast and space. Guess they are trying to hit an even lower cost point and complete with the Moomba line more.

Guess that answers the A series question that popped up a while ago. Not sure on the new series name for the closed bow but I can only imagine it's not going to be A.

axxxiswake 10-14-2013 11:32 AM

Its going to be the "t" series. I believe its going to be 23'.

Possibly a replacement for that OG Xstar? I think you should keep that thing until it dies.

Whoops. Not closed bow. Tradition bow

Mattie,

Yea if I didn't need the space I would, but with all my daughter's friends popping up I am in need of some space. I was pleasant surprised at the 2014 A22 price with surfgate and the essentials. Would've thought it was going to be way more than the 13 but in actually it was identical to the 13 A22 I priced out mid summer.

I picked up my 2014 A22 two weeks ago. It loves weight so keep those fat sacs. The wake is very versitile. Surf gate is awesome too.

T23 is what I keep hearing. should be announce then end of this month?

simplej 10-14-2013 7:00 PM

I heard t22 and snub nose with a November release from an inside source at expo but I've been wrong before

superair502 10-14-2013 7:09 PM

I heard it was a new hull

polarbill 10-14-2013 7:18 PM

Mase, you think new hull just means new hull mold or actually new running surface? The way everybody says their current hulls perform I have no idea why they would change the running surface. If it aint broke, don't fix it. Now if they want to change the above water line part of the hull to end up with a traditional nose than that makes complete sense.

I wonder how the weighting is going to work if there is a full walkthrough into the bow? If you can only plumb in an extra 300-500 pounds in the bow it might be hard to counterbalance rear ballast plus plug and play plus the wedge.

turbonine 10-14-2013 7:43 PM

Malibu's 23ft VRide goes away and Axis has a new T23. I don't think this is a new hull just the 2004-2007 LSV hull.

tn_rider 10-15-2013 2:32 AM

No complaints here then. I LOVE the 04-07 wake.

axxxiswake 10-15-2013 5:53 AM

Nope, completely new hull. I specifically asked that question.

superair502 10-15-2013 6:03 AM

Same here

canucked 10-15-2013 1:36 PM

If they get back to the price point philosophy I could be an interested customer.

21 feet, simple layout, wakeboard focused, lots of ballast (PnP). i dont care about super surf-o-matic 1000 or bass-flake super shine

priced around 50k, I was enthusiastic about the mondo, but sounds like real world pricing might be high. A 5 year old SAN/VLX etc. still seems like the best move for me (over new)

LYNRDSKYNRD 10-15-2013 1:56 PM

You should be able to get a conservatively optioned A22 for around 50k

I agree. You can get a 2013 for around that price still new with some options.

axxxiswake 10-16-2013 7:52 AM

50k for a new 2013 a22 is going to be REALLY tough to find.

canucked 10-16-2013 8:15 AM

50k for an A22 is laughable in my area.

I guessing 70+ is more accurate

bcrider 10-16-2013 9:11 AM

^ a loaded Vandall is $ 85k at Performance Watersports here in BC.

boardjnky4 10-16-2013 9:16 AM

well, canadian dollars do not equal US dollars, you also have higher taxes... not really an apples to apples comparison

canucked 10-16-2013 9:42 AM

Canadian dollar cost 1.03 US dollars. 5% federal tax and no provincial tax where I am.

The higher price (in my area) has more to do with demand due to strong economy.

I bought my last boat down South and will likely buy my next, makes for a fun road trip (although tennessee is 4,400 miles round trip).

xstarrider 10-16-2013 12:42 PM
