I always have and always will prefer the Platinum. Last year my 06 Flame collected dust while I rode the 03 Platty Absolute (same shape in Platinum). It's only 1 pound, but I love the light feel and the rigid snap off the wake.

I guess you'll need to change your screen name to CWB4Life??

LOL. I good call J-Rod, you would know. I think that CIE is really CWB in some other language.

ya i know ahah i got to ride the marius and i know i like it.. i know the difference between the plat and non plat. i was just looking for some info about peoples opinions about the ride of platnum vs regular. like if the weight difference and the rods down the board make any other change besides being a little stiffer.

One thing I've noticed is the longevity of the core. I have ridden the Absolute for years & love the shape, it used to be that after awhile the core would start to lose its snap and not pop the same (as all foam cores will do). The Platinum has really taken that away and given me a board that will take the punishment of regular use and keep its hard hit. It really does make a difference. If you like the shape, then its worth it for all the positives that you get from Platinum. As any one who has ridden it says, once you try both you will not go back to regular foam. CWB4TODAY & maybe tomorrow haha.

I have the marius platinum, and its an awesome board. I have never ridden a non-plat CWB, but I have ridden other boards. The platinum snaps so much more. It is worth the extra $100.
