What is everybody's take on this boat? It has 340 monsoon, illusion tower, tandem trailer, malibu cruise, swivel racks, new stereo, center ballast and wedge. What is a ballpark figure for what it should be worth? Is the wake pretty good? I have a couple 700# sacks to put in the rear for surfing or spread out for boarding.

Check that. It is an Escape not a sunscape.

Should be the same hull as the 2000 Wakesetter LSV that I had. Great wake but only with a Wedge. Without the wedge the boat has a flat wake. I ran mine with close to to 3000 pounds and the wedge. You won't find a lot of positive reviews on the wake, but mine was dialed.

Jarrod, I think it actually might be a wakesetter but when I looked it up on nada there was no listing for wakesetter LSV.

That's the one.

Mine was a wakesetter, but the hull id tage actually said escape or sunscape on it.

exact same boat I have, a 2000 malibu lsv escape (fakesetter). This boat is awsome. I installed 3 sacs at 375 a piece, 1 sac in the middle at 550, 1 bow sac at 375 and 480lbs of lead. with the wedge down the wake is big but not to lippy. I did have to upgrade the prop to accomidate all the weight though. there's a pic in my profile.

In good shape with low hours estimate around 30k give or take

rmack 03-28-2008 3:23 PM

That's a wakesetter, not an escape. You can tell my the strip on the boat. The escape has 2 detail strips, the wakesetter has none.

Look at my boat you can see the difference.

I don't recall which year, but I looked at one of the older 23 LSV's that was an Escape or a Sunscape and I think there was an option of the Diamond hull. Please correct me if I am wrong. Looks like a nice boat though.

jarrod 03-28-2008 3:48 PM

The Diamond Hull / Wake Hull choice was not an option until 2004 I think. Some one correct if I am wrong.

srh00z 03-28-2008 3:53 PM

I couldn't remember the year, just wanted to bring it up, seems like the boat I was looking at was around an 03 or 04. From what I have read, you can still get a great wake out of the Diamond it just has a different shape and may take more weight.

uh bill why dont you ask your roomy?

polarbill 03-28-2008 4:01 PM

Oh, what does he know. It's not like he is a good wakeboarder and works for a Malibu dealer.

(Message edited by polarbill on March 28, 2008)

The Diamond hull needs a lot of weight in the rear.

John, you find a place to keep your boat yet. We may be able to keep your boat at the place but I don't know how you feel about tying to a buoy. I also don't know what our landlord is going to say if he comes by and there is a 3 or 4 wakeboats tied to the dock and a couple tied to buoys.

(Message edited by polarbill on March 28, 2008)
