Is cable bad for your board?

I am going to a cable park for the first time ever tomorrow, and i am curious if its bad for your board. I just got a brand new liquid force trip and dont plan on taking it to the cable park very often. Also any tips for riding in a cable park?

It isnt great for it, the rails will grind it down a little bit but nothing too terrible. As for tips, the park I have been to has a beginner start where you are sitting down and a platform you can jump off of. I thought it was a lot easier to just jump. You will have a blast on your first time out for sure. Have fun man.

Id say if you're riding a trip...you're probably not going to be hitting any kickers or rails.

Nothing is wrong with the trip. The trip is a classic board in LF lineup. That came out sarcastic I apoligize.

You can by all means. All its going to do is scratch the bottom of your board, which it sounded like you were concerned bc it was brand new. I its your first time at the cable and Im not familiar with that park, you may end up not even hitting kickers. But you can also rent boards for cheap at the parks if you dont want to tear it up.

The trip doesn't have a grind base I believe. The bottom of your board will take a beating on rails and kickers.

There is a trip grind AFAIK.
Assuming the OP is gonna hit rails, he should be aware that it will void his warranty and in my experience (an 08 Lyman) non grind base LF do not hold up well on obstacles (my 05 CWB pure held up MUCH better).
Maybe pick up an old board on e-bay or the classifieds if he is worried.

one trip to the park is fine for any board but as some others have mentioned, just be aware your warranty goes bye bye. Also if your anal about your board getting scratches then of course dont hit the obstacles.

It'll get scratched any way you slice it but it won't hurt the board for several trips to the park unless you try to ollie on to something, miss and take a chunk out of a molded fin.
