We want to rent a lake house for a week in the next month or so, is there a good place on the lake for riding?

What about any good restaraunts in the area?

Call H2o Sports in Dothan and ask for Frankie or Melissa. They have a place on Lake Eufaula and may be able to give you the low down on that area.

334-699-7433

any of the creeks are good like thomas mill, white oak, or hardridge, just depending on where you end up getting a place in relationship to where you are staying. the wind is a big factor too. as far as restraunts the anchor inn and the oar house are really the only two on the lake otherwise you will have to go into eufaula

We were thinking of getting some where in this area: http://www.lakeeufaula.info/Rentals/Info.asp?RentalID=247

I have flown into the small airport at the lake before and the lake is very nice looking, we are just tired of the salt water/sharks/gators; we are looking for a good place to escape for a week from north east florida.

Anything else in the area for the kids to do, hiking, water parks etc.

OR, is there a better lake in the area to stay at?

Any info much appreciated.

Kelly

What about lake Martin?

It is not that much farther away...

jfisher03 06-17-2009 12:16 PM

that is a good location. lake eufaula is really the best place to go with lake martin being the next best in my opinion. lake martin is about two hours north west of eufaula...between montgomery and auburn. I have only been there a couple of times though so i dont have much info on it. the place you gave the link to is inbetween thomas mill creek and hardridge creek which is on the busier end of the lake. there is an island that you should be able to see from where your at which is the big place to go on the weekends. if your taking a boat then there is a store in thomas mill creek called bakers landing which has sea tow service plus gas on the water and also serve lunch. the owners are very nice and will help you in any way they can if your from out of town and need any information. i live on lake eufaula so if you need any more information my email address is jfisher03@gmail. com

Thanks for the info, I have reserved the house from the 12 thru the 16th of July.

Just a short four day trip, but looking forward to it.

Where is the smoothest water found? If you dont mind sharing your secrets...

depends on the wind...but thomas mill creek hardridge creek and along next to the dam are consistently the best. but every now and then the whole lake is smooth and perhaps with a little luck you can catch some of those conditions.
