Nautique Boat Question

Hey I am looking at purchasing a nautique somewhere in the range of 07, 08 and either a 220 or 230. My question is I know nautique redid their hull somewhere around there and got rid of the trough in the wake, what year exactly did that occur. Also I have heard that the 220 wake is very temperamental with shifting weight just wondering if there is any truth to this. Also if anyone else has some helpful information its greatly appreciated.

I have SAN 220

I got a great deal from Orlando Nautiques. While I am not a shredder by any means, I have had several top level ams behind the boat and they love the wake and describe it as "rampy". With the three tanks, you can either smooth out the wake by moving ballast or simply moving people. Unless you have SUPER slammed boat, I think you have to move people around to form the wake the way you want it.

The 220 is a solid boat. I've been behind the 210 and 220 and they are both a bit weight sensitive. I really don't think one is any more weight sensitive than the other. The 220 throws a nice wake with just stock ballast. I love the interior layout. I don't have any experience with the 230, but you really can't go wrong with either boat IMO

I've owned 2 230's and I'm ordering by 2010 today hopefully. It is a solid boat, and produces and amazing wake. Where are you located? I'm sure my local dealer would be glad to set up a demo for you.

The hull on the 210 was changed in 2005....years of the old hull (while a blast to ride) have taken quite a toll on my old knees! I now own a 2009 SAN210 and the wake isn't nearly as sensitive as in years past when the hull was much more narrow. I have a freind with an '08 230 and that wake is very consistent and nice without adding a ton of weight. I use a lot more ballast in my new 210 than I ever did before & love the wake, but I spend a lot more on fuel due to the additional weight. I'd say the 230 is the better value! If you are in Texas or Florida, let me know....I'll make sure the dealer takes care of you.

The new hull and new 210 came out in 07, not 05. 02-06 all have the same hull.

Thank you for the correction, UJ! It was the 220 that came out new in '05 perhaps???

When did the new 230 hull come out?

I believe it came out in 07 as the 236.

I ride in a friends 08 210 and its nice but if you can work a 230 I would do that all day long over the 220. No offense to 220 owners but I would take the size of the boat and the fact that the 220 is no longer made and get the 230. However, if you cant swing the 230 lots of people love their 220's

If you are set on Nautique, I'd go with either the 230 or the 210. I've been behind about 4 220's and only one was set up satisfactory. They are very weight sensitive as well.

From the peeps I have talked to the 230 is the money boat. I think most of Nautiques team riders are either on the 230(wake) or 210(skate) hull.

consigliereg8r 03-11-2010 3:18 PM

If money is not a problem go with the 230

We looked at 210s and 220s because we could not afford a 230. The 210 just didn't have the interior room we were looking for.

The 230 hull was actually introduced in 07 as the 236. The 230 came out in 08 but both the boats have the same hull. I have an 07 236 and LOVE IT
