Damped the noise vibration throughout the interior

I have an SV230 Enzo with an fae and thought my boat was quiet until I got a ride in a Malibu LSV. I was wondering what makes the Malibu's interior so quiet. Is it the carpet that is wrapped up from the floor to the underside of the seat vinyl?

My boat has snap out carpet on the floor only. If I was to add carpet to these side panels would it dampen the sound vibrations from the hull? Has anyone accomplished this with good results?

If you buying Ferrari you'd like this sound. Yep, carpet will work but not sure enough good.

Ya, but when you buy a boat to hang out in with friends it is nice to talk to them without having to yell.

I'm not an engineer or mechanic by any means but there are probably way too many possibilities as to why your boat has more vibration and/or more noise than your friend's boat. For one, one is a Malibu and one is a Centurion. Other factors can be engines, hull construction/quality of material, carpet, engine mounts, prop, prop shaft alignment maybe, etc.

It is definitely not the shaft or propeller. There is just more sound deadning from the engine compartment in the Malibu and I want to see if I can improve it in my Centurion.

You could always get some Dynamat and line the engine compartment. i am surprised your engine is so loud that you have a hard time talking. I have been in Tige, Malibu, Nautique and I personally have a Mastercraft. It has never been an issue. I just bought a new mastercraft and it is hard to tell the engine is running when you are in the boat, very well silenced.
