The Killer Quiver?
That duffy/shredstixx/chaos thread got me thinking. RJ and I love getting many different types of boards and seeing how they work behind our boat(s). Whether its RJ riding, or teaching a newb, which we love to do. So as a wakesurf boat owner, depending on who you ride with or how you surf, what is your Killer Quiver? Money not being a consideration, what would be the boards you felt you had to always have on your boat? No need to bash any brand or anything, just for fun.
I asked RJ, here is what he said:
I was kinda surprised, thought he would add a couple more, but he said those are his favs, and that they surf so differently, its fun to go from one to the other. But he said he had a couple other for consideration.
Now for me as the host/boat owner, I have a lot more people to please. From my 6 yr old Jesse all the way up and then friends like Frank Wolter and Dennis.
Anyway, thats a long list, but we really do need all those boards with our large family and guests. Not trying to leave out skim or anything, just don't do that much unless mitch or sean is out with us. But no worries, what is your favorite board list for your boat? Remember, money is no object, only rackspace. |
My board: Original Fly Boy. I still have not ridden a board that even compares (at least for me)
Boat board: Inland Surfer Blue Lake (quad fin). Still feel like an idiot for selling mine. Boards I would like to spend more time on: Any that somebody will let me ride that are light and fast. There are so many good boards out now. Especially from the custom guys. My only issue is how $ they are becoming and how fragile they are. |
yeah, that original flyboy was an amazing board. I still remember holding that thing out with an extended arm the first time, how light it is, and yet strong.

Slayshtank did a "quiver corner" a few years back. Here is a link. My favorite is Johnny. That has to be the best "quiver" of all time!

Johnny does have some nice toys, but I only see three Wake Surf boards, and two ocean boards. The rest are just toys. How can you include a moto cross bike into your "Quiver"?

I've accumulated a decent quiver, thinking of adding the Keenen Flegel Pro Model [*Not pictured: IS Blue Lake] - the board on the left is a Flyboy prototype from Jeff Walker he sent me late last Summer, and the Shred Stixx Custom was shaped by Rusty and has carbon fiber rails and iBeam. My favorite is the Flyboy prototype!
|
We also have 6 ocean boards: 11'6" infinity longboard tandem, 9'2" playboy tribal longboard, 9' channel islands fish big guy shortboard, 6'5" bz shortboard thruster w/ glass on fins, 6'2" rusty piranha quad surf tech, merrick eagle wing 6'1" thruster
not so bad for being landlocked ...... picture of all would be pretty cool!! |
@anderson nice pic and nice quiver! Nice to see them all lined up. I should take a picture of this one wall in our hay barn, kinda nuts.
@greg What dictionary did you find that in? ;-) |

And of course the Nubbin Ragboy gave me last year for beginners. And if I can ever get some spare cash, a custom Soulcraft built just for me!
