<b>If anybody didn't know malibu came out with a 25' wakesetter. but for u who did i want to know wat u all think. i personally think it is sick but my local dealler said it didn't put out a very good wake at all. It is huge though. Please just post wat u all like and don't like about it in general. Thanx</b>

i dont' know cool idea i guess. did u know that mastercraft has an x-45 and x-80 which our 24 and 28 foot thats cool too. i wish i could get one. why was the wake not very good? <BR> <BR>(Message edited by edward on November 07, 2004)

Big boats dont always make big wakes. Big/good wakes are created by displacement, not size. <BR> <BR>A longer and broader boat means more water to displace to create its wake. That in turn means it requires MUCH more weight to get the hull to push down into the water to create a larger wake. You'd probably have to put in so much weight into a 25 footer for a "good wake" as to make the boat unsafe. <BR> <BR>(Message edited by sl4ppy on November 08, 2004)

the x-80 is a massive boat, and it has one hell of a wake...talkin almost chest high and im 5'10" and the fuel tank only had a little bit in it, and its 80G plus they have the waste tank on it which is prolly about 40 gallons so thats ruffly 800 extra lbs with those tanks full and the boat is still safe. so bigger boats do produce bigger wakes..expecially if they're going to be designed for wakeboarding

Especially with ski boats. <BR> <BR>I own a 23' Wakesetter LSV and it takes a lot more weight to get a VLX quality wake. More hull means it rides higher in the water. <BR> <BR>I'd believe that the wake on the 25' is very small unless you have 3000 pounds to sink it. <BR> <BR>The X80 is a super heavy boat.

chest high wake.........hmm........ <BR> <BR>I think the point of making most of the larger wakeboard boats is not necessarrily to have a bigger better wake. It is to provide a good wakeboarding boat that will seat more than the average inboard. It might not be its flagship wakeboarding boat.

I know that the New 23' Wakesetter LSV is INSANE! I have rode both 21' and 23'- the wake is similar if weighted porpotional. I have rode every previous model year for the last few years and can tell you this year is different. In years past the 23 was suggish and diffiuclt turing when loaded down. This year they have fixed all of that. Go demo them!

The ballast system on the new 23' is also much much bigger than previous years. The fact remains that bigger boats need more weight.
