On a normal day in the winter, we would be the only boat on the water, but not this past weekend. We finally saw the dark side come out, along with our most recent Florida Transplants. <BR> <BR>Conditions <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65919/210205.jpg" alt=""> <BR> <BR>It was Cold (44 degrees) <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65919/210206.jpg" alt=""> <BR> <BR>Cliff <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65919/210208.jpg" alt=""> <BR> <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65919/210209.jpg" alt=""> <BR> <BR> <BR>Mike <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65919/210210.jpg" alt=""> <BR> <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65919/210211.jpg" alt=""> <BR> <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65919/210212.jpg" alt=""> <BR> <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65919/210213.jpg" alt=""> <BR> <BR>Sharing the water <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65919/210214.jpg" alt=""> <BR> <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65919/210215.jpg" alt=""> <BR> <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65919/210216.jpg" alt=""> <BR> <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65919/210217.jpg" alt=""> <BR> <BR>(Message edited by tcluv85 on February 02, 2005)

Florida Transplants were COLD....not really, they had the heater and blanket. <BR> <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65919/210221.jpg" alt=""> <BR> <BR>On our way in, hard to see, but the Dark Side was providing a show for us. <BR> <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65919/210222.jpg" alt="">

Yep, Mike landed one or two of his attempts.

Wow...I'm jealous. The spring service on my boat has already begun (doing it myself this year) in anticipation... <BR> <BR>I've decided to launch mine on LW the first weekend of March. Hopefully the temp by then will be 50 -- that's where I'm drawing the line last year. Last year, first with the boat, rode in the beginning of February... never again!

Well Cal, if you need a third, you know who to call. We miss you on this side of the mountains.

Umali, <BR> <BR>I actually convinced them (Craig Fulton, and his wife) that it wasn't that cold. Craig is going to give it a shot this weekend. <BR> <BR>On a side note, I drove back from Spokane yesterday and it was 66 degrees in vantage. There was butter for miles.<img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/angry.gif" border=0>

Ha ha. Good one Joe. This Floridian doesn't have to be anywhere near the North East to know you guys are the hardest of the hardcore. <BR> <BR>I can't believe it was 66 up there yesterday. It was colder than that in Central Florida on Tuesday. <BR> <BR>Dark Side going big!

villageidiot 02-03-2005 1:29 PM

It is warm on this side of the mountains... mid-50's today in Yakima. But I took my new puppy up to the Yakima River this weekend and there's still icebergs along the banks. I'm sure the water temp on the Columbia is probably right around 40 degrees! What was the temp in the water on Lk Sammamish? The King County Lakes Data site says 52, but hasn't been updated for a couple weeks.

villageidiot 02-03-2005 1:30 PM

Oh, and for those who complain about mid-50's being cold, the ground is usually frozen over here for at least a few more weeks. Weirdest winter in Washington ever...

wakeguru 02-03-2005 1:43 PM

Yeah, I just talked to someone in Minnesota who said it was 50 degrees. She was in shock. <BR>Choose your sick days wisely.

tcluv85 02-08-2005 6:44 PM

Water temp was 44 degrees on this Saturday, I think the air was somewhere around there too.

poser007 02-08-2005 9:37 PM

44 degrees is freezing, I jumped in my pool with my new drysuit and it was about 42, my feet and hands felt like they were gonna come off. I don't know how you guys do it!!!!!!!!!
