mxflyer281 03-22-2008 11:05 PM

Wow yah guess that was older than I thought lol though I didn't start boarding till summer of 06 so I have an excuse. Wasn’t his 009 in a sequence shot in WBM?

(Message edited by Mxflyer281 on March 22, 2008)

There's a 009 at the end of the downside up trailer. There's a better quality video somewhere, but here's the youtube link
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KEFd9ui1FTc

i personally think matt simms is the most underrated wakeboarder. and just thinking about it in my head i would think a 009 is way harder than a 10. but thats just my 2 cents

"i would think a 009 is way harder than a 10. but thats just my 2 cents "

If that was the case he would probably be landing them eh?

jward10 03-23-2008 6:48 PM

cie, you may be right but how many people have landed the 1080 and how many people have landed the 009??

stephan 03-23-2008 7:21 PM

I think its the 4 handle passes to one that makes the 1080 a technically harder trick. Considering that no one on here knows from experience, this is also just conjecture.

waterdork88 03-23-2008 7:31 PM

actually for a 10-its 3 handle passes if its heelside, and 2 if its toeside (and generally a third after they land blind)

a 009 is an osmosis and ole (no handlepasses)

dont get me wrong i love watching a 10, but i love the 009 so much more.

stephan 03-23-2008 9:09 PM

A handle pass doesn't have to be behind your back to make it a pass. I stand corrected on the 009 pass, but a TS 10 uses 4 passes, two in front, two in back, land blind.

dnp33 03-23-2008 9:20 PM

yea man i was gonna say the same thing. not that i know from experiance but the last handle pass of a 1080 has got to be one of the hardest. even though its not behind the back. when you see most people land 9's its with there back hand on the rope and its nowhere near there hip.

waterdork88 03-24-2008 8:43 AM

oh well thats where the confusion was... i dont count the handle passes in the front... i only count behind the back
